So which option is better? Either way you make a hundred bucks.

If you can't make more money from selling 100 widgets instead of 10, why bother making the other 90?

it looks like Frankfooter needs to take a prerequisite course before he can try to tackle ''Economics For Dummies"
I am not sure what that prerequisite course would be, as its tough to dumb down ''Economics For Dummies"
That course would likely be taught with crayons and have a recess break.

The second one for consumers, it'll be $9 cheaper.
Yes, but no one will produce them for that price because it's not worth their while. So the consumers will get nothing.

Why are there always shortages in socialist countries like Venezuela or Cuba? Remember the bread lines in the Soviet Union?

Canada's capital gains tax hike another blow to productivity, say economists
'With this budget, the Trudeau government is shooting us in the foot'
means high-worth individuals, corporations and trusts will pay more in capital gains taxes, which some economists say will be another blow to Canada’s already dismal productivity.

“Canada’s productivity is in crisis and the best way to get it back up is to attract new investments,” said Renaud Brossard, vice-president of communications at the Montreal Economic Institute in a statement after the budget. “And few are those who have been able to lure investments and job creators with promises of higher taxes.
“With this budget, the Trudeau government is shooting us in the foot.”
The inclusion rate increases to
66 per cent
, up from 50 per cent, on capital gains above $250,000 for individuals and on all capital gains for corporations
so who in their right mind would put their money at risk by investing millions in Canada only to give 2/3 of the potential appreciation to the spend stupid Govt of Canada ?

govt Canada takes zero risk and captures 2/3 of the potential appreciation
the investor takes all the risk and captures 1/3 of the potential appreciation

say goodbye to investment in Canada, ............investors can get a better deal elsewhere

this is way beyond stupid

Budget 2024 announces the government's intention to increase the inclusion rate on capital gains realized annually above $250,000 by individuals and on all capital gains realized by corporations and trusts from one-half to two-thirds, by amending the Income Tax Act, effective June 25, 2024.

fire sale on Canadian assets before June 25 ?

and then investments in Canada grind to a halt

what an idiot

The NDP argues for the end of subsidies, higher corporate taxes and more taxes on income instead of capital gains.
Either way, the divide between rich and poor needs fixing.

Right now the way they define "rich" is anyone over the median income lol. Canada's pay is half that of the US for any job, taxation is higher, cost of living is higher and overall Canadians are poorer. I think taxes definitely need to be cut but I dont think whether it is the CPC, the Libs or the NDP, it will change much.

a day or two ago you were asked to list Trudeaus accomplishments

your reply was gender equality, legalizing weed and reconscrewituption

please balance the dubious value of those pseudo accomplishments vs the economic damage this moron has and will cause

the CPC understand fundamental economics
what should be crystal clear by now even to you is this liberal govt does not understand fundamental economics
the NDP has never and will never understand fundamental economics

the question is not picking one of three parties
it is a matter of removing a destructive party from power via the vote

The CPC only care about corporations. They will cut tax for corporations, their cronies and their sponsors but wont lift a finger for the common man and keep it the same for individuals. So net result is the same. You are fucked.

its not my fault you backed a fool.

you have one choice in three that wont lead to a reduction in your living standard , more importantly a reduction in living standard for your fellow citizens

you are beyond hope and will waste one of the most valuable rights in the world - the right to vote out an incompetent and destructive leader

the right to vote out an incompetent and destructive leader
And vote in possibly an even more incompetent career politician who only cares about the rich? The only reason people will vote for PP is because they are sick of Trudeau. Not because they like PP. That should tell you a lot.

Pee Pee only knows how to moan and groan. He has not spelled out how he intends to combat The Climate Change. Now when Freeland asked him whether he supports the tax on the ultra rich, or is he going to reverse it, of course he won't answer that question. In other words he is only going to be there for the ultra rich if he comes into power. Yet none of the usual supporters of his on this Board meet that criteria. They think that Pee Pee will be there for the Middle Class. What a joke!!
