If the Leafs exit in the 1st round again, will Coach Queef get fired? I haven’t seen much improvement from this team since he took over.
This is the best season in Leaf history, by 10 points, their best winning percentage ever.
Last year was their best winning % until this year, blowing out the previous best.
These last two seasons are under Keefe.
They're tied 2 -2 with the reigning Cup champs who are still in their prime, and they have home ice advantage.
What kind of improvement are you looking for?
Even acknowledging that they have weaknesses, he can only coach the players given to him.
What were you expecting, a four game sweep? One admittedly shitty game wipes out everything?

GO LEAFS GO!

We finally got great game from Willy and JT. Where were these kinds of effort in the previous 4 games ? Matthews played his heart out. Threw his body around and scored the winner. Leafs played a great game 3 but a followed up with a stinker. We’ll see which Leaf team show up next.

Nylander has 3 goals and 5 pts in 5 games.
Unlike the last game Campbell was able to pull it together and he was spectacular.
Giving his team confidence to start skating like the wind.

No, I was not expecting a sweep. I could handle losing a game 3-2 in the playoffs but 7-3 is ridiculous
Ever heard of empty net goals? Ever heard of 2 of them? 7-3 or 1-0 the game is equal value. In fact it probably hurts more to lose by 1 goal.

What this tells me that when the Leafs want to put in the effort and not just rely on their talent, they can win against the best of them. For the 2nd half of this game they took it to TB. It was like a switch was flipped.

That second period was incredible. JC36 - hats off mate - you kept the boys in it.

Were my ears deceiving me, we're Leafs fans giving Campbell the Bronx Cheer? Gutsy win...I sincerely hope that they are not just prolonging the misery.

The Edmonton Oilers are in trouble, the LA Kings are a balanced team. They are feasting on the non-McDavid lines.

3-2 series lead… Holding my breath as I’ve been here more than a few times before with this current squad.

The truth is that the Leafs owe the victory to Jack. It could easily have been 6-1 or 7-1 after two periods he he hadn't been 100% dialed in. None of the Tampa goals were even remotely his fault, the team and in particular the D played horribly in front of him in period 1&2.

Yes, the fantastic four finally stepped up with the playoffs-level effort that everyone has been expecting and waiting for. Good on them. Great job to dial it up in a serious way in the third period. Clearly someone put a fot up their ass between the 2nd and 3rd periods. Now the question is, can they deliver the same level of performance to get 13 more wins and a Cup? Matthews and Marner are absolutely capable. Reilly too. Same with Jack. I wonder if Tavares and Nylander have it in them to do so as well.

PS Enough with the stupid penalties, already. FFS!

Spezza deserves a lot of credit for the way the team responded after the first. First he spoke to Campbell after the 2 quick goals, then he addressed the whole team in the dressing room after the first period. He's a true leader and the boys responded well.

Let's hope the last night's 2nd. & 3rd. period Leafs show up tomorrow night and seal the deal.

‘Agreed. Campbell came up big but the game could have easily gone the other way had Tampa capitalized one more of their many high risk chances. Had Tampa won we’d be finger pointing at those stupid penalties you mentironed, like the one Nylander took when the game was tied in the 3rd, or the flamingo Kertfoot performed on the Tampa’s second goal that blocked Campbell’s vision when he should have gone down to block the shot like Stamkos did a couple of times.

The Leafs didn’t play very well in the first and was fortunate to win the game with just two great periods. The scores could have been a lot worse than 0-2 if not for the big saves by Campbell. I don’t like their chances if they start out the same way in game 6. They must start the game like it’s game 7. Dubas pointed at the lack of killer instinct after the loss to Montreal last season and they must show they have that in them now or it’s going to be another heart breaking game 7 loss.

The fans were chanting "Soup!" because that's his nickname. As in Campbell's soup.

With all the multi-million $$ pay cheques to the players and head coach, I expect them to do better with killer instinct and not just being timid. Toronto Maple Leafs
now known as Timid Maple Leafs.
