Can't wait until this season is over. Hope they get a high draft pick but if there arent a bunch of trades to go along with that it will be another stinker of a season. I wouldn't mind as much if it was all rookies and younger players. I don't think I will watch another season of kessel, phaneuf, bozak next year.

Looking who the Leafs could draft at fifth.

Dylan Strome C, comes in at fifth. This is the player I have been targeting since the Leafs collapse. He kept Erie going while McDavid was injured.

Realistically Strome should be the target. I hear the Leafs are in love with this guy. So they should be. 6'3 Centers with skill and can skate don't grow on trees.

I want this to be true. :thumb:
Where have you heard this ?
It was in an article I read last month, either in the Star or Sun. Leaf's management have been following him very closely all season.
Does my heart good to 'hear' this.

What's the word on Gauthier? Can he be a shut down centre? Big. A bit slow. He was kinda invisible for Canada at the World Juniors but his style may be a better fit for the NHL. More grinding.

The Leafs would like that. They would like him to become a two way center.
He is a good defensive center, also good on faceoffs. Now the Leafs want him to improve his offence.
He should be with the Marlies next season.

Interesting week for the Leafs.
Starts out with a surprise point from last night vs NYI.
The Oilers could not get anything from the Wings, but Arizona did grab 1 from Nashville.

Rest of the week could be very good for the Leafs draft positioning.

Tuesday
Columbus at Carolina ... would love to see the Canes win in OT.

Wednesday
Buffalo at Toronto . . Sabres in regulation.

Thursday
Edmonton at Pittsburgh ... Go Oilers, grasping at straws.
Dallas at Carolina ... Come on Carolina.
Columbus at Detroit ... Go Blue Js. :D . You never know.
Chicago at Arizona ... Go Zona, one can always pray for a miracle.

Friday
Edmonton at Columbus ... As long as it goes to OT. Like Tuesday, someone has to win.
Toronto at Calgary . . Flames need the two, I hope they play like it. No to OT.

For a while last night I was worried the Leafs were going to get 2 pts. What a goal by Tavares!

Whoever Toronto ends up drafting is going to suck.
Watch. This franchise can do no good.

Columbus and Carolina did go into OT last night but it was the Blue Jackets with the win.
Carolina does get a point though.

Leafs host Sabres tonight.

Winner gets McDavid. .... I bet we would see one of the best games in a long time.

Like, who are these guys.

If you don't watch the Leafs lately, compared to when the season started, who exactly are these guys?

To suspend Kadri for three straight games, then possibly coming back against a good team, that would be a tank job.

Some guy said it best in the Toronto Sun comments section. Shana-ban would give out suspensions for cheap shots and injuries when he was disciplinarian chief for the NHL, but Kadri gets 3 games for being 15 minutes late, and a whole lot of other antics, which were not elaborated on. On the day the clocks get changed too. Haha.

go tank go!
go tank go!
go tank go!

Meanwhile atop the NHL there are six teams tied for first overall. Three from the East, three from the West.
NY Rangers, ST. Louis, Montreal, Tampa, Nashville, Anaheim all with 91 points.
NY Isles have 90.

I'm telling you that Nashville pick is going to be in the mid 20's as opposed to the late 20's. They're a paper tiger that will bow out in the first round.

The word is mediocre. THN rates him the as the 6th best Leaf prospect. Poor skater with no offensive game. Forget all that talk about being a shutdown center. Him and Tyler Biggs will have a lot to talk about in the minors next year.
