And tonight in Milwaukee.Raptors won on Friday. Well MLSE won't have problems booking playoff gigs at the ACC. No scheduling conflicts between the Raps and Leafs this April/May.

Jus sayin' that's all. Remember, I've always said that I admire Leafs fans loyalty and I always liked Daryl Sittler but he should have been a HAB! Okay, I'm out of this thread.I see it didn't take long for an obnoxious trolling habs fan to crawl out from under a rock.
Not surprised either, it's Les Habs little brother.
you are a knob and a troll..........coming back after a long absence, invading the sports section with a mindless post..........Jus sayin' that's all. The only one --- Bernier who was injured! The only reason I rooted for the leafs cause I did think as long as Bernier is healthy that the leafs might have a chance. Now, our hope has gone...i think what the Leafs needed was a heart transplant , just like the Raptors had, with their big trade...........the Raps play for their coach, play for themselves, and play for each other..........none of those can be applied to the leafs, it seems...last night DeRozen stepped up in the 4th quarter, almost single handidly to win for his team..........did any Leaf, step up in the 3rd period?...
I have no issue with Kessel but we are paying another guy (yes, he is a forward) $5million to score 5 goals.Kessel the $8 million dollar man has been virtually invisible the last 10 games, if you're going to throw that kind of money at a guy he better show up when it counts.
The Raptor trade was a salary dump that surprisingly created a team. With the caps situation in the NHL duplicating a trade like that is probably next to impossible.i think what the Leafs needed was a heart transplant , just like the Raptors had, with their big trade...........the Raps play for their coach, play for themselves, and play for each other..........none of those can be applied to the leafs, it seems...last night DeRozen stepped up in the 4th quarter, almost single handidly to win for his team..........did any Leaf, step up in the 3rd period?...
What has he done the previous 60+ games? Nothing like key holing stats. He's not the only one who has gone in the dumper the last 10 games. The whole team stunk.Kessel the $8 million dollar man has been virtually invisible the last 10 games, if you're going to throw that kind of money at a guy he better show up when it counts.
The Wings have always had a strong farm system, they have drafted well and have had good scouting here and in Europe. That's why they've been in the playoffs 20 odd years straight. The Leafs scouting and drafting has been a sore spot over the years. There is a difference between the Wings and the Leafs, the former took a full decade to build their talent pool, the Leafs are still building theirs. After it was stripped bare during The Reign of The All Highest it was going to take years to generate strong farm club. The Leafs missing the playoffs this year was not unexpected. The bright side is they may not need to make too many changes in the off-season. Resign Komarov and bring in another defenseman to take the pressure of of Phaneuf and they'll be back in the hunt next year.
God bless Toronto sports media. They are the first to throw the Leafs (whether it's select players or the whole team) under the bus as soon as things go south. But when things are going well, they stroke Leaf fans into thinking winning the cup is a strong possibility and they can do no wrong.God bless Tim and Sid!
I hear you Kat, but for every Bolland and Clarkson who may still be legitimate team improvements should they stay, there are stiffs like McClement, Bodie, Orr, Gleason, D'Amigo, and Holland who really are nothing more than top tier AHL players talent-wise. If Nonis is going to take over and turn around what is arguably the flagship franchise of the NHL, he better be able to find and acquire some REAL talent to truly advance the team in significant fashion through relationship-based trades, and not just continue his opportunistic approach. Be bold. Reach around the league and pull the trigger on some big name, albeit higher risk trades to try and make some real impact. I mean shit, what is he waiting for! and for that matter, what does he have to lose? Trade Kadri. It's time. Phaneuf too, if you can. Bye Bye Kulemin. These guys just aren't good enough to be on the 'new' Leafs team. If that means you load up on two heavy lines and four decent defencemen and ride em' into the ground, so be it. The current mediocrity just cannot continue. The Leafs had a huge collapse last season in the playoffs against the Bruins. Everyone will have an opinion as to 'what happened'. Myself, I believe the loss of Mark Fraser who was instrumental at clearing out the net, combined with Reimer not being solid when needed were key. The result of that was Bernier to offer something more solid, Bolland and Clarkson to give more grit and experience. Both media and fan would agree last Oct... though hardly a contender, this was an improved team.
come on IV, that was manufactured outrage.sid is just another loud jock trying to make a name for himself............he could of made the same point by not yelling and screaming...God bless Tim and Sid!
Totally agree.Everyone is an expert after the fact.
Totally disagree. It is the failure of an organization to build a team with a plan, knowing they have a never ending financial safety net.
