I agree with you assessment of Bozak's skills, I may see him more 3 than 4. I like the way Bozak appears to have muscled up. I like his attitude and think he has improved a lot since he came into the league. In fairness to Turris I am going off his stats. I can't recall seeing him play. He has improved defensively going from -15 to 0, but with 2 full years behind him he doesn't look like a #3 overall. I still don't see him as a 3 million player and wouldn't give up a player to get him,at least, until I knew what I had to pay. I know Phoenix is tight for money bu if they thought there was a lot of upside they would find a way to pay him.

Regarding Bozak, who is responsible for Bozak playing with Kessel for most of 2010/2011? Other than several other players were on the "Kessel" line - each of Versteeg, MacArthur, Kulemin, other.

Turris is not worth 3 million per year, last year 11 goals 14 assists previous 8 goals 12 assists. Looks like a first round choice that isn't working out.
What's the upside? I don't see it.
Turris must be delusional.

Is this the "Official Toronto Maple Leaf 2011-2012" thread? Wow - the silence on the Leafs win is eerie.

Bozak is not suited to play with Kessel. Connolly better get in there.

I think Lombardi could do well in that role as well once he's gotten back to more game shape.

There was a time on Terb when a opening day win or loss would result in 25 + posts ... I think that is what he was trying to say ... Game finishes and you go on terb to see reaction and there isn't nothing ...
My feelings too, came here last night to check the parade route and nothing!

OK, all in all not a bad first game.
Yes it was only Montreal, but some sore spots look as though they have been addressed. Faceoffs and penalty kill were improved .... small steps.
Reimer looked solid when called upon.
Leafs are 1-0.

Actually, the ability to beat Montreal during the season will be pivotal as the Habs will probably be one of the teams the Leafs have to battle if they wish to be one of the 8 teams to make playoffs in the east.

Again, not to go overboard since it's only the second game, but the boys are playing quite well. So far, the defence is doing a better job, more active sticks, guys are putting their bodies on the line to block shots. They're playing a good team game. Keep in mind, we still haven't had our supposed #1 centre in a game yet (Connolly), and our last year's 2nd in points leader (MacArthur) also haven't played yet. The Leafs will have a week off after tonight and will hopefully have the whole team practicing together. I still believe Lombardi - once back to "normal" will also make a lot of contribution to the team this year. If everything clicks for the Leafs, we could very well be in the playoffs. Then again they were 4-0 last year then fell apart. I don't see that happening this year though.

Leafs 4-0 with Sens
Spoke too soon...it's now 5-4. Just didn't have the same intensity. One thing they will have to work on is playing with the lead. Too often when they have the lead they play like they are afraid to lose instead of keep on pressing for the win. Need to remain agressive instead of just sitting back and play defence only.

In the 30 years I've been aware of professional hockey the leafs have made the playoffs like 4 times. I don't know why anyone bothers to follow them, they are pitiful.

Hmmmm. By my count the Leafs have made the playoffs 16 in the past 30 years.

Obviously, it is your insights and accuracy of comments that are pitiful.
