What i'd do is put Snyder, Thames & Bautista in the outfield. Put Encarnacion at third (he's playing much better) and play Molina more. The more Arencibia plays, the lower his batting average gets & he's losing confidence. Patterson could either DH or alternate with Thames. And when Bret Lawrie is once again ready to be called up, put him at 2nd base in place of the awful Aaron Hill.

They have a CF in the wings. Gose. A year and a half away, in all likelihood. No need to trade for a stop-gap - that's Davis' role.
I fully expect them to deal from the 'pen, but there won't be much coming back.
I have read on certain Jays boards fans are claiming they could keep them and get comp picks through free agency. The problem is that you would need to offer arbitration to get compensation, and there is no way players like Rauch, Francisco, or Hill would not accept arbitration, where they are guaranteed basically 2011 salary.

I agree the relievers will be traded (and possibly Hill) as long as Jays are willing to pick up majority of remaining contracts -- won't be much but they can't risk arbitration.

It's so sad. It wasn't so long ago that Wells, Rios and Hill were considered superstars or on the verge of superstardom. How far they have fallen.

That should read Gose is AT LEAST a year and a half away. At this point you don't know for sure what you have. You think and hope you have some thing but until he gets here and then shows he belongs you need a CF, Davis is terrible.

The problem with trading the pen is the guys you want to trade aren't going to be easy to trade and their value is limited.Of Dotel, Francisco ,and Rauch, You may get something for Rauch, hopefully you get salary relief from the other two. AA did not do anything close to adequate when he "restocked" the bullpen.
If I could find a sevicable CF that I was going to get 3 yrs out of I would give it serious consideration. That covers your ass while waiting for Gose and if he develops slower than you expect or gets hurt.

Davis might strike out a lot more than I like, and he is no Wells in CF, but darn is he ever exciting to watch late in games when he is on base. There has been several games where he essentially single handedly gets the Jays the win...

I'm really liking the direction this franchise is going, especially the emphasis on hoarding draft picks and going for high ceiling/tough to sign high schoolers. Gotta love the fact that Dotel, Rauch, Francisco, Camp, Frasor, Hill and Molina could all be Type B FA's, potentially equating to 7 supplemental 1st Round picks in 2012.

As well, not exactly out there in the news but the Jays have been quietly signing up some serious Latin talent this summer. Thus far they have signed Baseball America's #4 ranked prospect (RHP Roberto Osuna), #5 (OF Wilmer Becerra), #6 (SS Dawel Lugo), #21 (OF Jesus Gonzalez) and #33 (RHP Manuel Cordoba).

Yes, picks and 16-year old Latin players are all a crapshoot, with the majority of them never to step foot in Rogers Centre, but the more chips you have at the table.....

Identify 1 game this year where Rajai Davis has single handedly given the Blue Jays the win.

Do you think that Francisco, Hil, Rauch and Camp would pass on arbitration?

I doubt any of the 7 would pass on arbitration, so the 7 first rounders ain't happening! Some of these guys will be gone by the trading deadline.
I think a starter will go to. Probably a minor leaguer however Reyes and/or Villaneuva are possibilities too.

I thought Snider played well in center last night, he might do the job until they find a legitimate CF. I think he has enough speed and baseball smarts to do an adequate job.
The thing I didn't like last night was his stoke. Thought he looked like the guy they sent to AAA.

When was the last time the Jays had 4 .300 hitters in their lineup? I remember Olerud, Alomar and Molitor but that is only 3.

The Jays had 4 .300 hitters plus Adam Lind in their lineup last night. No wonder they scored 11 runs.
They should have has 12 runs if the idiot Blue Jays fan had not scooped the live ball up with his cap. I can't beleive Toronto fans are that stupid. I hope they took the ball away from him when they turfed him.
