First a waiting list is not an appointment.
Same as a standby list is different than a waiting list.
Second, by filling this spot on the waiting list you are now taking the spot of someone who really wants or needs the shot.
One has to wonder how many more people like you have done this for actual appointments.

So the soonest appt I could find is next Wednesday.
I got an appointment for next week at a city run vaxx place. Then Rexall texted me. I asked my sister (the COVID-19 expert) which I should take? My sister said "Sign up for both. Then you are twice as sure you can get a shot."
So yeah, I am sure thousands of people are doing just that. And that explains many of the cancellations. There are also people who are undecided about AZ and vaxxes in general who will keep booking and keep simply not showing up as they "make up their mind".
I checked the Rexall website again and the site then said that all spots were filled and that I was back on the wait list. With my city appointment less than a week away and a sure thing, I will just wait for that.
And in the meantime, people like myself who would gladly just take one slot are left on he back burner. It is pretty selfish in my opinion. There are limited slots, don't take one unless you will be there and don't book more the one.
I agree. And I'm glad I couldn't / didn't take my sister's advice.
