The popular vote falls far short of national polling numbers and the state by state polls were even further off (one poll had Trump trailing in Wisconsin by 17! - he lost by 1). And the polls were only ever wrong in one direction - in favour of Biden.

Even Democrats, in victory, are scratching their heads about how the polls could have been so wrong.
No one thought Biden was ahead by 17 in Wisconsin, the people who did that poll should second guess their methodology.

The numbers might have been a bit off, there still counting thou, but they got the results right.

Would you pay someone to produce polling for you that was so far off? Would you make any important decision based on such polling? I wouldn't. That's the real acid test.

Fun for All is right that we need to wait for the full count, it really does seem that there was a pretty systemic error in the same direction across the board.
What's interesting is that it seems to be a Trump effect. 2016 showed a similar shift, 2018 didn't, and 2020 did.

One theory is that Trump really does activate a bunch of voters who normally don't show up and so aren't weighted properly in "likely voter" tallies. If it is just Trump, there really isn't much that can be done about it (sample size of 2) but if it is a more general "the right pitch can get them" then this is going to have to be something to adjust for.

The fact that some specific states seem to have a bigger effect than others may also help narrow down what group of voters is being missed.

Nope. Most Trump supporters are unhinged and uneducated. More than anything else, most lack basic intelligence.
Ok. I'll put your name right under Frank's. For the rest of you out there, no need to individually respond. Like Pennsylvania, I'll just write in your vote for you.

Feel free to keep on crying. I love how Stacy delivered GA nicely coated in blue after Kemp tried that nonsense in the governor's race.

I'll let your post stand as evidence of just how "hinged" you are. LOL!

It's impossible for we outsiders to know what difference any of these issues really made or will make to the final vote totals, but people who are dismissive of the disdain that the Pennsylvania Governor and Pennsylvania court have showed for the Consitution are sowing the seeds of division, not unifying the electorate. These people are more provably divisive than they could ever show Trump to be. I guess they're not listening to their puppet leader Joe.
You can't push on the norms of election rules and not divide people. The specific rules in question aren't about making it hard for people to vote. They are about ensuring the integrity of the process.

Nevada is another state that pushed normal sense on election process.

I think with Trump off the ballot the choice for many suburban Atlanta women will be to go back to voting Republican. We will know the answer in January.

Wow...you're saying that the Pennsylvania Governor and Court are 'sowing the seeds of division'?

I'm crying all right, with laughter! Here's a free clue. Remember when Hillary supporters were wailing in the streets in 2016? Because that REALLY HAPPENED, some people started making fun of it. This time? So far, the only people I've seen crying over this election are Van Jones ("because character matters" - yeeesh!) and Stephen Colbert (because Trump is filing legal challenges). Even in victory, your team is doing all the crying! Now that's funny!

When you act in defiance of the clear words of the Constitution for political advantage, that's what you are doing. But technically, I was talking about those who are speaking in support of their acts.

I don't think they are acting in defiance...

What else do you call it when you try to do it the right way (through the legislature), fail, but then do it anyway? My word for that is "defiance".

Yes and no. The pollsters really screwed up on some key Senate races. Namely Maine, Iowa, Kentucky and North Carolina. The Democrats spent hundred of millions of dollars in these races and they weren't even close.

I would repeat some commentary I heard. It's possible pollsters are biased by consultants who want to spend lots of money on competitive races. No political consultant ever said hey let's not spend money.

My team. I am not on any team. For the record, I believe the election was stolen, fair and square, which is pretty much a tradition in America.

They did not plan it in 2016, because they thought it was not necessary.
