Yes and no. Obama raised the priority of the hunt for bin Laden and issues in Afghanistan generally. Bush had been more focussed on the hunt for Saddam and the situation in Iraq. That means Obama, as the order giver, is due perhaps 1% of the credit while 99% of it still goes to the intelligence people who found him.
Yeah, apparently Gitmo interrogations do work....

It has been reported by Reuters, that the american teams mission was to kill Bin Laden, not to catch him. I predict this will fuel the 9/11 conspiracy theories.

I'd still like to know how the 3rd building of the WTC setup collapsed when it wasn't even hit by planes. :)

If you put a CATHETER into ANY dudes dick and asked him for the Colonel's secret recipe, I can GUARAN-FUCKING-TEE you that he will name spices you've never heard of just to get you to stop torturing him.
You can substitute water boarding into "catheter" and you'll get the same result.

Although I'm not against torture, the premise that it gives valuable information all the time is probably inaccurate.

Re:Gitmo, you should ask yourselves why Obama did a 180 on his decision to bring them to NY for trial so recently. Maybe the info came from the detainees there? Just accept the fact that war is hell, its ugly, and there is no perfect way to do it.

Or maybe the military industrial complex is too powerful that even the President can't control certain things in the military and the brass behind it.

Jump to 0:47 and watch the remaining bit of it, he sums it up quite well.

It's too bad if his death had to come at the cost of the erosion of American democracy. He was never as big a threat to American democracy as Gitmo itself. I'm glad that they got him, but at the same time saddened to see Americans tossing away their core values to do it.

What I found to be really stupid was the chanting, cheering and all that pomp...and circumstance I guess.
That's one way to celebrate a serious issue. Your countries enemy #1 is killed and you cheer and celebrate like your team just won the SuperBowl.
What a way to really piss off your enemies more so and fuel the fire which is already burning bright. lol

Although at the baseball game, while some young idiots were standing and cheering, a couple of older women (probably in their 60s) sat quietly and looked at each other as though to say, "what a silly thing to cheer about."

agreed, cheering was in poor taste, but we all know where the emotions of the people were coming from, would have loved for a more somber mood for this, we all know this will lead to more attacks in the future (i pray these attacks don't happen).

Nah, hanging drawing and quatering with his head on a pike would be much better.

However, instead the U.S. did better for him than he did for any of those he was responsible for killing and had his body prepared according to Islamic burial custom and had a Muslim military chaplain conduct the proper rites.

It has been specifically stated that although the decision to do so was problematic, that those involved where under orders to accept his surrender if he attempted to do so. That said I don't believe there is much weeping, wailing or gnashing of teeth, that he didn't!

Thing about conspiracy theories is they can run on any kind of fuel..

Being caught dead or alive there would still be theorists out there.
