The Bombay high court has said that if a woman willingly has sexual relationship with a married man, then she cannot cry rape if he refuses to marry her. Expectedly, the decision has women activists up in arms.
A division bench of justices Ranjit More and Anuja Prabhudessai quashed a rape complaint against a man observing, "The petitioner (woman) is an adult and was well aware that the respondent no.6 (man) is a married.
Despite knowing this, the petitioner had accompanied the respondent no.6 at several places and had sexual intercourse with him without there being any misconception of any fact. In our considered view, the FIR does not prima facie disclose that the respondent no.6 had made false promise of marriage solely with an intention of satisfying his lust or that he had cheated or deceived the petitioner." The judges said the material on record indicates that this was a case of "consensual sex" and hence it does not constitute offence of rape.

Last week, I was covering the day’s newspapers on ITV's This Morning when a “fun” item about “the death of chivalry” came up.
The tone of the item was “Cor blimey, 54 per cent of men (according to a This Morning survey) would drive past if they saw a woman struggling to change her tyre! Men – what sexist gits!”
I sighed and chipped in with: “This is the post-feminist backlash. Men don’t want to help women because we’re scared of appearing patronising. You might offer to help change a tyre and get a slap for being sexist.”
Yet, as the laughter subsided, every single man – and most of the women – said they agreed with me. For the sad truth is: chivalry has suffered death by a thousand (Guardian) paper cuts.
Anti-women sexism, you see, is absolutely everywhere – if you look hard enough.

The "bold stand" taken by British officials was ordering retailer Urban Outfitters to remove a photo from its website because of too much space between the model's thighs.
Colloquially, this is known as "thigh gap", something (or its absence, really) that has been the envy of Tumblr anorexics, scourge of body-image crusaders, and subject of ample beauty-blogger think pieces over the past few years. The British Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) apparently felt this Urban Outfitter model's thigh gap was too large.
In a December 31 ruling, the agency decreed that "the ad must not appear again in its current form" and Urban Outfitters must "ensure that the images in their ads were responsibly prepared." The agency was responding to a complainant "who believed that the model in the picture was unhealthily thin" and the ad "irresponsible and harmful." In upholding this complaint,

You are a very smart young man. My son is a few years younger than you and I wish he had the same plans (except for the ladyboys).
I have mentioned to him about marrying a women from another country but I don't think he finds Asian girls attractive. I have noticed a lot more latino people in the GTA these days so maybe he will end up with a nice "old school" girl from South America!
