To be perfectly honest, I enjoy watching hot young actresses in demanding roles much more than porn. ATJ is a much better actor than Christina Hendricks. Didn't know she was in Peaky Blinders, I'll have to get caught up on that show.

Will ATJ be as good as Amanda Seyfried, time will tell.

Finished the series 3 weeks ago and was impressed by ATJs acting to be honest...maybe she will be better than Amanda...

Yum.

Did anyone listen to Day 6 last week? The host Brent Banbury did a segment on The Queen's Gambit, one of his interviewees said this was show the best commercial for chess ever made. I'm sure that many game stores & Amazon are selling many chess games.
FYI https://lichess.org/ is a good chess website.

Has anyone tried 3 person chess, or 3D chess?
I have not tried either.

fun fact. a portion of the scenes were filmed in toronto, particularly the final episode in russia. that building where all the fans and spectators were outside of is a toronto high school.
So I'm not going crazy. Good to know.

I'm taking a break from The Queen's Gambit.

To get caught up with the beloved Kim's Convenience. I made a mistake, I started watching the show in S3 and Jong seemed weak to me. I was wrong, watching it from the beginning I got Jong's backstory and his prickly relationship with Appa made sense.

And to honour Appa now being part of The Mandalorian - Janet I am your father!!!!!!!

They seem so much alike to me. Both have saucer-shaped eyes, both know how to play the vulnerable angle. Only time will tell, Amanda is a decade older than ATJ, Ms Seyfried's breakout series was HBO's Big Love.

Once I'm finished with TQG, I'll watch Mank.

Same here watch it in one sitting.
Good for you and Jenesis, this is not a series I can binge watch. Like Chernobyl before it, I have to watch an episode a day. I'm learning how stupid I am when I play chess, why I lose my Queen so quickly. I'm rotating it, so I don't miss anything, with Kim Convenience...a nice dessert to go with the main course.

Btw has anyone noticed that Netflix has a browser preference? I tried to verify my account with Mozilla Firefox and kept getting a 404. Netflix kept pestering me to get it done, it was annoying. So I phoned Netflix Tech and they told me to do it in Google Chrome (which I never use), badda bing it was done.

E4 has been the strongest so far, the chess game with the young Russian prodigy was riveting. It almost looks like Beth Harmon influenced Bobby Fischer's strategy. Full credit to Marielle Heller for morphing her role from a stereotypical 50's housewife into a savvy entrepreneur. I looked up her bio, she's playing older than her actual age, very good actress.

I didn't recognize the piano music, it's actually an opera transcription.

After I'm done with TQG, I'll be watching Mank. It's supposed to be released on Dec 4 but I haven't seen any theater listing. I probably wont wait. I'm a lifelong Garry Oldman fan but I'm looking forward to what Tom Burke brings to the film more. Getting an actor who can personify Orson Welles's bear persona is next to impossible - genius casting by David Fincher.

In Strike he plays Cormoran Strike, an ex- Royal Marine who had half his right leg blown off in Iraq, now a PI.

I don't play close attention to ads but I got the impression it will be streamed. Either Amazon or Netflix.

It's a Netflix produced film, I doubt Amazon has any dibs on it. Tom Pelphrey (Banshee) plays Herman Mankewicz's (Oldman) younger brother.

...good thing Lily Collins doesn't look like her dad.

I initially thought Amanda was playing Susan Alexander, Lily Collins is playing the role. Susan Alexander is the film's version of Marion Davies (Seyfried). More background info, William Randolph Hearst had a large stake in Hollywood. Marion Davies was a comic actress popular in silent films. She initially appeared to make the transition to sound. Hearst decided she had to become a serious actress, it didn't go well, ending her career.

I wonder what Papa Phil is going to make of her singing?

Her Spanish is flawless from her Argentinean heritage.

For those who watched TQG, her "house" is in Cambridge. Great show.

Lots of other GTA Locations. The rest of the show was shot in Germany.
