I’ve said many times it’s ( if we can use basic ideology preferences) both. I suspect the middle class would rather just be left the fuck alone, happy to live life. Rather than taking it on the chin by both…As far as greed and the upper crust goes proof is in the pudding and stats per se..just look at the center of the universe and its neighbors…

the last several years? I’ll counter with the shit hole the left in the electorate created, 2003-2017 and seem to be repeating Federally. What did the L and you ( by that I mean voters in the gta) do other than throw central Ontario under the bus and turn blind eyes……what have you done since other than whine about the consequences…aka people flooding the gta….is it not the L that champions socioeconomics? But is really just lip service?

I could also point at PPs and Trumps popularity and their vote bases…and while the right is sometimes about cutting taxes, it’s also business friendly and favours fiscal management.

I agree with much of what you say but one of the very sad side effects of maga and I include PP in that is the false notion that poor people do not want to work and that it is possible to pull yourself up by your bootstraps. This is a fantasy and many people are struggling while others are prospering. I do not have all the answers but I do know the answer is not to do nothing or to cut back on the safety net.

Learn to read a budget. He’s spending far more than Wynne and will continue to spend more and more. Learn the definition of cuts….He just can’t keep up with consequences thanks to you, your wants, turning blind eyes me me me me me etc and

deaf ears
( you’ve been warned hundreds of times, over the last 20 years, even by very left economist)
What's he spending on?

Healthcare and education Ontario pays the least per capita in Canada.

With respect to the poor. Might it be fair to suggest that like Muslims, cons or Libs, cops or bankers, and any other walk of life, there are bad apples that give everyone else a bad profiled name? I know my friends in regent park wanted out badly, only some broke the cycle, a few didn’t see 25. Look at the UK, tons of stats on class mobility. None good.

Socioeconomics mattter, but I suppose only if/when skin pigments are other than white or inner city…………………And diversity matters, but I suppose only when talking investments. Pretty sure, post war when people “got off the boat”, they didn’t feel there was only one option, to find work and a place to hang their hat..

I often find it somewhat ironic that those who think trickle down is a scam, or whine about the wealth gap can’t look at Canada and the GTA…and see they ( residents/voters of the GTA) are living proof that fear and greed are the two most powerful motivators known to mankind.

Look at this graph, how much plainer does it have to get….it started in 2010…what was happening between 2003 and 2012 or 2017? The well off were sticking their heads in the sand. And today whine about all the consequences. And ultimately just want want want more of the same…

Answers at this point? Me, I’d start with FPtP. Politics these days are far more about data mining, vote buying, than actual policy.
/points at oh so much but most lately JTs sudden fear based reversals on home heating carbon taxes in Atlantic Canada, and bail reform thank to growing violent crime, primarily in the GTA. We sure talk good games about socioeconomics.

After or beyond that, some time tested adages. Whether personal lives or our levels of govt, “live within your means”, don’t put all your eggs in one basket ( the gta) and watch your Penny’s. We can have the gold standard in social niceties if we watch them. There’s a time and place for everything be that a govt on the L or R.

but frankly, I don’t have much faith in humans or human nature. Suspect, sometime in the next 50 years there will be another class war. Likely to start in the US ( we can start with Trumps popularity or Jan 6 ). The public trust is at all time lows, and polarization is approaching terminal velocity. “Let them eat cake” ( see also Ontario and the GTA).

Why FPTP?
An Ontario con majority gave us massive cuts to healthcare, education and social services along with donor giveaways in development fees, selling of services like telehealth, vaccine delivery, nurses and service ontario.

Why not raise wages.

Obviously still living in denial and Disney land are you Frank.

Where to start?
Obviously you don’t grasp that it’s a free world and companies are free to leave or stay away. See manufacturing…see the rust belt see oh so much…see record capital bleed…how many times does that need to be posted…….

But what do you want to do other than chase more away ( higher taxes and higher wages) and kill others with your green insanity. Obviously Ontario hasn’t taught you a thing…..

What don’t you grasp about various causes of inflation? One of which is higher wages… or have you not been alive the past 50 years..

back to economics for dummies.

Do you think helping the homeless and the poor is a bad thing? Or are you in the camp that thinks the way to help the poor is to cut taxes for the rich.
I love bleeding heart liberals and the way they see things black & white to keep their narrative alive...solving problems by always using someone else's money and demonizing successful people because they are wealthy to the point of accusing them as somehow being criminals.
It's getting old and you're being played by your Marxist masters. Sorry to break that to you comrade.

Dude nurse, teachers and other lower wage professionals which are essential to a society can't make ends of month in our big cities. What do you think will happen?

Nurses, teachers lower wage? You mean the ones that can retire in their 50's with a sweet pension and work 9 months out of the year until then?
You're being played my fiend.

Black and white? Yesh. Sure. That's the ticket.

Like your posts are thoughtfully composed of infinite shades of grey.

Yet you can't think of one actual thing to do to fix the problems you whine about endlessly here.
Not one thing.

the starting salary is low and makes many of them leaving the field or move to smaller cities.

Which will make big cities spending a lot more to retain them, if they can.

No-one to blame but yourself ( assuming you voted for the previous admin and JT now ) for all the vote buying and your wants and being gluttonous greedy self absorbed voters..As well as ignoring warnings from economist and financial planners/experts for years about the double impact from Boomers.

How many times does crap like this need to be posted before you read and absorb it? Including warnings from the FAO????

As far as smaller cities/towns go, just how many job openings do you think there are? Are you not aware the GTA is fastest growing city in NA, not the other way around?

You know it only takes a few seconds to google what shit holes and economically depressed areas are like.Especially those where there’s really only PS and retail. If that’s too hard, just look at the rust belt or Detroit in the U.S….

Why don’t you start with London or Peterborough, Kingston, North Bay, Ontario. Or any of the other 5 Wynne designated as have nots. and wanted to try a form of ubi, as well as ORPP ( how fucked up does it have to get to even consider that). First you throw them under the bus, drive survivors to their knees, then offer them welfare ( ubi) and salvation (ORPP). but Ford cancelled..

but a lot of rich well off voters lapped up because it’s oh so virtuous….why not just deal with Fucking problem in the first place. Which includes the GTAs greed and self centered blind and deaf to so much ways.
“There's so much poverty”

Crime and gangs is rampant as are homeless and adicts. There’s a shock, socioeconomics matter according to you “Lefties”….but all it is, is lip service.. never mind so much else ( including not grasping or even when/why the GTA is the fastest growing in NORTH AMERICA). Including the fact, there’s no demand for teachers or nurses….i wonder why?????????

Never mind the cost of Hydro, home heating Carbon taxes or the fact food, cars, appliances, clothes, and everything else is just as expensive if not more because it cost more to ship shit………..But incomes are way lower. Do you know what the words disposable income mean? Speaking of which, over and above other factors, just who the fuck do you think is driving inflation? People barely getting by and who have no disposable income to spend or save???

And let’s not forget, if you give all 1,000,000 public servants decent/hefty raises be they nurses, RPNs, teachers, doctors, cops, EAs and PSWs and far more like me/us because the center of the universe is getting expensive.

Are you not aware taxes are the same, and the dumb rednecks, and lower middle class, who already have way way way way way less pay for that too?

It’s often hard to get past the fact so many seem to live on another planet and are so unaware of many things. Not the least of which is that there’s more than just the GTA…

So why are so many leaving the field now?
They're not leaving the field. That's a myth that comes from the left's propaganda machine. In fact, I know pople who have kids that are having a hard time finding teaching positions. You know why? Because the existing teachers that have "retired" and collecting their fat pensions, continue to work and are double-dipping.

They are affectionately called cockroaches in certain circles thanks to narcan.

Metnal health facilities. Great there another 50 billion we don’t have thanks to…. The list just got longer… People talk about socioeconomics and pay lip service to it but just want to do more of the same ( me me me me me, we are the center of the universe) and complain about various consequences.

Be that the price of R/E that exploded in 2012 and the left being blind to it, still not doing anything, be it grid lock, shelters, the homeless, or near all immigrants and youth, and flooding it….
You and your friends keep talking about the cost of certain programs you don't like. You should be looking at the costs of not doing them. Just because you don't spend the $59B or whatever does not mean that you save or have $50B. It just means that you have to spend it and likely more in a different way. All of these programs exist in a dynamic not static economy and there are secondary and tertiary effects. It is not a simple as you think.

Gasp! you mean supply and demand in a free market will set the the price of labour & goods, instead of being held hostage by public unions until we bend to their demands?

The Ford government is getting rid of Unionized nurses and paying twice as much for contract nurses.

I luv the way you take complex issues, then stuff them all into shotgun barrel, squeeze your trigger and splatter them incoherently all over the board.

It is truly a gift you have there.
