The Pandemic That Wasn't

I'm sure you think you're right but:

The flu kills between 24,00 and 62,000 in the US any year. US covid total 113,000 (almost double worst case in modern times)
It kills between 500 and 1500 any year in Canada. Canada's covid total 7,800 (five times a bad flu year)

And that doesn't even get into the fact covid in North America has been around for only 4 months.
The Coronavirus has not only been around for only 4 months and killing that many people in such a short period of time but these numbers of deaths are happening with shutdowns and isolations in place. If these measures weren't taken the numbers of deaths would be exponentially higher. The irrational, loud and ignorant very small percentage simply do not understand or like to willfully ignore the data and facts to fit the narrative they are trying to spin, that's why these uneducated fools keep comparing the Coronavirus to the Flu.

One last thing to consider. The flu numbers are *not* limited to tests and "suspected" due to a set of symptoms. They include the estimates for all the cases that weren't caught.
If the numbers were being measured the same way, either the flu numbers would go way down or the covid-19 numbers go way up.

With a few measures Europe and Asia have not had a resurgence of cases. Don’t see why it will be any different in Canada.

Also of interest the other week in the States they 90,000 deaths with 1,000,000 positive cases. Currently more than 2,000,000 have tested positive with 113,000 deaths. Rate of death seems to be slowing substantially after they started to reopen businesses.

Sucks to be on the losing team, maybe next time the lockdown crowd will win.

You're hilarious! First of all, up to today we are technically still in lockdown but you can prove me wrong by going to your favorite bar or restaurant for a sit-down meal. Secondly, I actually do not enjoy what is going on and I'd rather be banging hot chicks but I'm a realist. Once its safe to do so I will with a vengeance. LOL

PS, Good old America is spiking but that's ok. It's Trumptard land.

Ford knows the writing is on the wall. Even Tory wants the DT patio bars open. Bet he likes to have a jar from time to time on the patio too.

Next Friday is my prediction when stage 2 starts.

Guess you have given up waiting for a vaccine before heading back out ?

Ever since March 25th roughly a week after the lockdown began you've been irrationally and ignorantly predicting in 2 week time frames is when businesses or agencies will re open and you've been wrong all along. First it was mid April, then end of April beginning of May, then May long weekend, then June 1st and now end of June, keep on predicting eventually you might get it right, I got faith in you.
You've been wrong because your irrational predictions are based on your personal wants and not on the actual data regarding the Coronavirus.

https://terb.cc/vbulletin/showthread.php?708508-Prediction-when-the-bigger-agencies-reopen

Mid to late June was a very realistic prediction of opening the majority of businesses which was predicted by many health professionals at the beginning, which is what I kept on telling you and the Amigas, but unfortunately you and the Amigas don't like data and facts.
Just like I told you numerous times that there will be at least a 2 week timeline between the stages which you kept denying and look it's been almost 4 weeks since stage 1 has started with stage 2 being possibly a few weeks away.

So here is more realistic information for you which I highly doubt you'll understand, next week between the 15th-18th Doug Ford will assess the areas that will have re opened over the weekend, and he will tell us that by the Friday June 19th or following Monday he will give us the outline dates of when stage 2 in the GTA can start, so stage 2 could be at a minimum 2 weeks away in the GTA, this is of course if the areas that will re open as of this Friday June 12th do not see any spikes in the number of daily cases.

Now time for you to wail your hands in the air and stomp your feet some more.

By time the June 19 date hits it will be more or less 4 weeks between the starting of Stage 1 and Stage 2

Little has been done to increase testing. Don’t see much in way of apps being forced upon us for contact tracing, they don’t even talk about it anymore as they know it would be their downfall. Bet very little efforts have been put in place for increased contact tracing, Government workers are too lazy.

Ford should have lifted the restrictions ages ago. Ontario is the slowest to come to this realization. Moscow that was hit far worse than Toronto already lifted their lockdown

Ford will pay at the next election with his poor handling of the pandemic.

14 week lockdown is beyond reasonable. Ford is close to getting the 100 day lockdown he wanted, which is as I recall Toronto was locked down for during the Spanish Flu pandemic 100 years ago

Sorry the lockdown will end before a vaccine found, which is what you wanted.

Next week will be 4 weeks from the start of stage 1, and we're still 2 weeks at a minimum away from the start of stage 2.
Ford should not have lifted restriction ages ago, if he had we would have had more daily cases and subsequently more deaths. Of course you do not care about this because you lack empathy for others and understanding of the facts and data regarding the Coronavirus.
It really does not matter what any other country or any other city is doing regarding opening, most countries are on a different timeline and have instituted different measures. Russia has taken a substantially different approach in the fight against the Coronavirus as their preventive measures are far better then ours.

Ford has done a great job in the fight against the Coronavirus so far, he will get my vote next election.
Keep wailing your hands and stomping your feet as what you had wanted and want is not happening.

It's an honor. You will be one of us sooner than later. You're just in a state of denial. The pandemic buffoonery is nearly over.

To be fair, the flu season isn't that much longer and instead of lockdowns, sensible people get the flu shot enabling a fair extent of that herd immunity the anti-science crowd keep crowing for. That said, covid numbers in Canada and the US are WAY above flu deaths.

The worldwide numbers don't look as bad but plenty of that has to do with surprisingly low numbers coming from authoritarian regimes like China, Iran, and Russia.

p.s. Funny to see so many of the people wanting herd immunity are also convinced that vaccines are unneeded or a massive conspiracy.

Because many Canadians (and even more Americans) see individual freedoms as paramount so refuse to do simple things like wear a mask and get angry that the government might be contact tracing.

Despite your sad attempts to claim otherwise, there is no "lockdown crowd', just people like those you praise in governments reopening who look ate the data and enact or reduce restrictions as the rate of infections changes.

Since you have lost, guess you have decided to jump off the lockdown bandwagon.

No worries, those who live in Toronto are use to those kind of people.
