There were questions raised about Zarate's move to Lazio and how he'd settle. Well I think 3 goals in 2 games says it all.

Lazio/Milan on the weekend, I am hoping the sky blues stick it to Milan even more.

Roma 1 Cluj 2

This could be the season where no Italian club makes it to the knockout stage of the CL.

Roma's defense is wafer thin, in contrast Lazio's is bottomless. Claudio Lotito has quietly put together a very solid team. Mauro Zarate has been getting the glory but it's the distribution of Patsy Foggia that's making the Latins look unbeatble. And to think that a little over two years ago he was almost out of football. Even this summer he was disrespected - Tottenham was unwilling to pay a nominal transfer fee for him. If Pirlo is as burned out as he looks, I have no problem seeing Foggia take his place on the Azzurri.

Btw why didn't Dossena play against ManU, has Benitez soured on him already?

Juventus 1 Zenit 0

Juventus got lucky today and Ranieri is an idiot; I should get a lobotomy for suggesting that he's as good a manager as Mourinho. If they start Nedved and Molinaro in the return leg in St Petersburg they will be annihilated.

Nedved is an old lion; a shadow of his former ferocious self. As for Molinaro, as Tuco once said, it is not even fit to talk about him. Juventus came to life when De Ceglie replaced Molinaro; had they settled their contract dispute with Giovinco he could have started in Nedved's place. Then maybe Juve could have kept pace with the attacking Russians. As it is, Buffon and Chiellini stole the game for them. It wont happen again!

On a final note; the top EPL teams are going after Andrei Arshavin. Today's game was an eye opener, Chiellini erased him from the pitch.

What a fantastic weekend, the big clash between Chelski and ManUre ends with a tie, Liverpool draw with Stoke  at home, and Arsenal moves to the top. Ohh, and Spurs remain last, can it get any better?

Questions coming out of the weekend:

1. Portsmouth is a pretty solid (5-8 place) EPL team but Robinho made them look like absolute crap. Could he be worth the money? or does he need to be a big fish in a small pond? because he never played like that at Real Madrid.

2. Does Aston Villa have the depth to last the season while competing in the UEFA Cup?

3. One of the Big 4 are not going to finish in the top 4, the only team that is certain to be in top 4 is Chelski (seriously, a team loses Deco and replaces him with Ballack after Essien is already hurt! that's ridiculous!), which team will it be? Don't laugh but if ManU doesn't turn it around soon and/or CRon starts sulking to get a transfer to RM, can the unthinkable happen?

Answers on a postcard.

Thats the right answer, Robinho is a big fish in a small pond
He's a bit like Robbie Keane IMO (bad buy for Pool)

The only EPL team that was really after him is Spurs, Arsenal had mild a mild interest in him, but Arsene wouldn't pay more than GBH10 million for him, he is too old for Arsenal.

True enough.

Seba Giovinco is 21, if he doesn't start on wednesday, it's a good bet that he moves to Arsenal in January. Arsena does his best to appear indifferent.

He also must be feeling somewhat vindicated:

Hleb injured, out until November.

Flamini benchwarming at Milan.

Arshavin reminds a bot of Milan Baros, plays well in WC and Euro's then does dick squat for club teams.

Very odd how that works

I have heard thease rumours as well. Giovinco would be a good replacement for Fabregas since I believe that Cesc will be going back to Barca after one or two more years.

I think Arsene would have preferred to keep both Hleb and Flamini. But most ex-Arsenal players don't look as good after they leave Arsenal, or in other words, Arsenal's style makes them look better than they really are. Henry is the classic example.

I dont think Senderos has appeared for Milan yet either, but he's crap.

Their team is so young but right now they're playing very well...they have had a soft schedule up until now, so its no surprise they're leading the way. I hope Cesc is in it for the long haul, but Arsene does know when to sell them. Vieira past his best, hoodwinked West Ham for Ljungberg, as you noted Henry...

Some amazing goals were scored during the Milan Lazio match (4-1).

This past summer Chelsea was in hot persuit of Kaka, so much so that they were willing to pay 100 million euros for him. Every time Chelsea made a bid, the Brazilian would reaffirm his loyalty to Milan. During the entire process Berlusconi didn't have to say a word. But I'm not entirely sure if his loyalty to Milan is as ironclad as his loyalty to Carlo Ancelotti. The former Invincibles enforcer stuck with Kaka after the fall out from the CL 2005 disaster. Much of the blame for Milan's collapse fell on Kaka's shoulders - remember my phrase "Kaka is caca". Kaka's relationship with Ancelotti is much stronger than C Ronaldo's with Alex Ferguson; if the Italian becomes the next manager of ManCity, Kaka will go with him.

Especially yesterday...they had chances unlike the Fulham game. Walcott should have 3 times but kept trying to take an extra touch. Brutal loss.

That being said they're still ahead of Spurs!! (Derby had more points at this stage last year)
