The Sens are on of the best drafting teams in the league.
lol... yeah they've improved over time... but some of their picks were a joke compared to what they could've done.

you're not a best drafting team just because you get high picks...

teams that draft well and still have had low picks are the best drafting/scouting teams in the league...

look at Detroit, Colorado, Philadelphia, Dallas, Calgary and Edmonton- they all have always drafted much better overall than Ottawa.

And really Daigle was everyone consensus #1
article headline in that years september issue of 'the hockey news' reads "Alexandre Daigle: Did Ottawa get it right?"
Ottawa was also criticized by hockey expert Bob Mckenzie for choosing Daigle- saying that he doesn't have the same nhl playability as a Pronger or Kariya...

N2G
I didn't mention anything about the playoffs, just the most talent in the league - that's all.

I would like to see this list of a dozens players you would take before Hossa ...

The Senaturds win over Buffalo looks like a fluke as they lose to NJ last night. Look for the Sabres to take it to the 'turds in Ottawa for the rematch while the mighty TML dispose of the Devils tonight!

Toronto - 31 pts in 28 games
Ottawa - 29 pts in 27 games.

The Northeast Division is composed of highly competitive teams for sure. Take the first place Buffalo out, you have 4 teams fighting for the second place. So far Montreal is the leading candidate for second place finish. The good doc will not count out any of these teams. And I will not be surprised the second place team will have 100 points or more to qualify for playoff this time around.

Let's not forget the Senators are still the #1 picked team from the off season to guarantee a Stanley Cup winning this season.

Who predicted Ottawa to win the President's Trophy and the Stanley Cup? This is news to me. Analysts had Ottawa going into the year as a middle of the pack club. The picks out of the West have predominantly been Anaheim and Buffalo in the East, which is consistent with the standings today.

SI sure as heck didn't pick the Sens to win the Cup.

Here are the predictions from TSN.ca:

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/feature/?fid=2844&hubname=

^Only Darren Dreger picked them to win the Cup, and they are projected 4th in the East after regular season.

The Senators Have Lost Three In A Row Now....

and losing to the lowly Columbus Blue Jackets 6-2 just does not sound right to a team with so much talent in the roster.

they are coming from lowly and remember, they are currently categorized as 'under the honeymoon' that we see evident almost everytime a coaching change or big trade occurs.

-just like the leafs for the 1st 18 games of this season...
-or the 15 games the Bruins played after trading away Joe Thornton last December...
-heck, even Philadelphia is starting to play slightly better after making their changes.

regression to the mean will set in... just give Hichcock and the boys some time. you'll see.

Perhaps a clarification is needed for the term 'lowly' with regard to the Blue Jackets:

Western Conference
Team GP Pts
1. * Anaheim 32 52
2. * Nashville 29 39
3. * Minnesota 29 34
4. San Jose 30 42
5. Dallas 30 40
6. Detroit 28 38
7. Edmonton 29 34
8. Calgary 27 31
9. Vancouver 30 29
10. Colorado 29 28
11. Chicago 28 27
12. Los Angeles 31 26
13. Phoenix 28 23
14. Columbus 28 22
15. St. Louis 28 18

Being second last in standing in the Western Conference makes Columbus 'lowly' as of now. Certainly anything can change since about 2/3 of the season is still in the becoming. The good doc wishes them a lot of luck.

Well, perhaps BBBJ was first in Standings??? :D LMAO!!! Seriously, beating the 'mighty' Senators is a good sign for any team, especially when they are not at the bottom of their mood swing. LOL!!!

Should The Senators' Coach Be A Psychiatrist Also???

Pity the manic depressive Senators!!! They played so good at times at the height of their mood swing. Then bang, all of a sudden they sucked big time when depression set in. With 36 games played and earning 35 points, the 'mighty' Senators are sitting at the last place of the Northeast Division. To live up to the hockey experts' expectations, this team's coach better find the right mix of psychotic drugs quick for the team. Or opportunities will pass the 'mighty' Senators by. On the other hand, if you ask the good doc, please keep Ottawa sleep walking as long as possible. LOL!!!

Whereever I am now
well traditionally , they dominate the season , and tank in the playoffs...

perhaps the curve is reversed this year...

the Leafs are pulling away though... oh wait no they're not, Buffalo and Montreal are..

Toronto is two points up, Ottawa has a game in hand ....
and ottawa and toronto play on the 30th...

A potential battle for the basement..
good times !!
