Disgust = Derek Roy and Danny Briere diving across the ice all night long. What a brutal display and a disgrace to the game ...
Given NHL top disciplinarian Colin Campbell was in attendance of the game, wouldn't the referees and linesmen be calling driving penalties all night long on Roy and Briere??? Wouldn't the mightly Senators be scoring a boat load of power play goals then??? Why did they only win by a goal against a depleted team with 8 minor league youngsters??? BTW, that goal was the result and gift of the referee's dubious penalty call on Sabres defenseman Teppo Numminen.

Nut sure what this response is all about. Just stating that Derek Roy and Briere dove around the ice all night, as they do most other nights. It's a well documented fact, just highlighting it for reference.

I think Adam Mair's face told the story at the end of the game .. Sens intimidated.. nope.. But they did get the 2 points.
Even though the refs let sabres lay on top of and hack at Emery all game !!

Thje mighty Senators looked pretty good against a depleated Sabres squad that (was) 8-1-1 in the last 10

Go Wings Go !!

LOL!!! As long as the referees do not penalize them for diving all night long and in every game, they will dive their way to Stanley Cup.

Just remember something about this "powerhouse" team:

They ALWAYS choke in the playoffs....always.

The Mighty Senators Are Underdogs???

Murray says Senators the real underdogs....http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=203637&hubname=nhl

Coach Murray, perhaps you are trying to get a psychological edge over the young Penguins. Perhaps you are preparing for the Senators' early playoff exit again??? Or perhaps preparing for your exit as the head coach too??? But please beware of self-fulfilling prophecy. Underdogs or Upperdogs, the games still have to be won on the ice. Stop trash talking and do more meanignful coaching. Perhaps then you will go somewhere.

Interesting observation....from a fan of a team that has not made the playoffs for two years, has not finished first in the league in a dog's age (if ever since expansion???) and when they have made the playoffs have also ALWAYS "choked"...A.K.A. LOST....for the last 40 years.

For entertainment value the Sens are helmet & shoulders above the Laffs. The sooner that you, MLSE, CBC HNIC realize that the better.

In the meantime go back to your whining about the 78 reasons why the Laffs were robbed, self destructed, poorly managed, poorly owned, poorly equipped, poorly fed, poorly coached, blah diddly blah blah blah.

NOTE: the fucking universe did not implode...it is just a fucking hockey team...move on, take up salsa lessons, go cycling, get laid, stop being so mentally and physically affected by a fucking hockey team. Sheesh!!

The Mighty Senators Are Mighty Again!!!

Ever since December, the Senators have been playing excellent hockey. It looks like the team is on a mission for something. It is Round Two of the Stanley Cup playoffs and they just take down NJ Devils in game one. Hmmm...

Game one it was Brodeur who got stoned by the potent Senators. Of course, it will be up to the Senators to solve him again and again and again. That will be the way to win this series. If Brodeur plays like his old self again, it will be an interesting battle between two experienced playoff teams.

I think the injury ridden Penguins put up a better fight than what Jersey is giving... of course with Jersey, the scores 'should' be closer.

but, don't kid yourself- Jersey has more to bring, especially if Elias is healthy.

Actually as bad as Brodeur was in the first period of game one, the Devils made the scores very close. So there is hope when Brodeur plays better in the subsequent games. The Senator vs Devils series will go at least 6 games.

With the mighty Senators holding a 3-1 lead in the series over the Devils, the Senators are the best team in the Eastern Conference. They play with purpose and authority, an excellent winning formula for playoff hockey. It looks like the Senators are determined to exorcise the choke factor demon this time around.

Hey you are the Oracle. Can you foresee what is going to happen to the Sabres??? The Sabres are a better team if they play with passion, purpose, grit, and determination, which is what the Senators have been doing. One would think after embarassing themselves at the Rangers' home turf, the Sabres will finally wake up and rebound to take game five and the series. Obviously that is the best case scenario. If they still keep sleepwalking, they are at best a very average team.

Can't believe that the Devils are playing so poorly against the Senators in this second round of playoffs!!! Of course, the mighty Senators seem to have everything put together this year. It looks like they are on a mission.

it was a very unphysical affair... the Sens will be with full health and might for the next series... whomever they play.

this is great because we finally actually get to see the full extent of the best game this team can bring.

As of now, there is very little doubt that the mighty Senators are firing on all cylinders and the best team in the Eastern Conference. The young Sabres are the only other team still standing. There is quite a bit of bad blood between these two teams, given that the Senators were eliminated by the Sabres in five games last season. For sure, this is a chip on the Senators' shoulder. Then this year, the 'dirty' hit by Neal on Sabres' Captain Drury really riled up the Sabres. One would assume after such a hard fought series from the tough to beat Rangers, the Sabres are now fully awake and ready. The Conference final between these two team amount to the gigantic crash of the titans. It should be an amazing series!!!

A much waited for series! let'em go...

every aspect of this series should be exciting. though, it will probably be a pure hockey series (the more disciplined team will probably win, as evident in almost every series this playoff year). evenso, i'm even excited to see the chirping between murray and ruff erupt on occasion.
