Given they are 12 points back but have two games at hand, they could make a run but it will certainly be tough.
One should not doubt that the mighty Senators want to make a come back and go to playoffs. Unfortunately they do not control their destiny. Other teams ahead of them will be huge obstacles to the mighty Senators' playoff aspirations.

Alfie Got Hit In The Jaw With A Plug And....

all of a sudden it is downhill skiing for the mighty Senators on the scoring board???

Sure it is not much consolation for both the Sabres and Vanek, who has his jaw wired shut for the month of Frebruary, courtesy of the mighty Senators.

The 'mighty' Senators is mighty again!!!

They may not go to playoffs this year but it looks like they will take the Sabres down with them as well. They certainly make the Sabres play like headless chicken for the better of the last two periods. Regier, for someone who wants your team to go to playoffs, what a good job you have done by the trade deadline!!! You will make your boss Golisano eat his microphone when your clueless Sabres go golfing in April.

The Senators Are Always Mighty....

For one, they always seemed to have the Sabres' numbers. They always exposed the Sabres as a bunch of headless, gutless turkeys. For two, they managed to fight their way to first place in the northeast division. Not bad, for the first quarter of the season. (No discussion of playoff scenario yet as it is too early at this point in time.)

They running into a rash of injuries as of late. So we'll see if they can keep it up.
Injuries or not, they are always mighty against the Sabres who just went through the motion of sleep walking when they played the Senators. Too bad the mighty Senators do not play these headless chicken Sabres 82 games a season.

Then there is the playoffs ..... enjoy.
I'm a Leaf fan.

I keep my mouth shut about other teams in the playoffs.

The Leafs have not made the Stanley Cup Final in 42 years.

The Senators have.

Unfortunately the Sabres seemed to lose their collective soul by sleepwalking the next year after that and were beaten soundly by the 'mighty' Senators in the playoffs. The Sabres will probably go to playoffs this season. But the only way they can prove they are the real deal and get their monkey off their back is to beat the Senators on the ice time and again going forward. If not, the Sabres are just another lethargic team.

You are a Leaf fan ? Sure, OK.

When it comes to the playoffs I feel fine talking it up against Ottawa fans.
The Leafs have won the Cup. The Senators fell apart the one and only time they got there.
When the teams meet in the playoffs ...

'99-'00, 4-2
'00-'01, 4-0
'01-'02, 4-3
'03-'04, 4-3

I do not have to tell any true Leaf fan which team won those four series.

Ah, the Sabres. They have done almost as well as the Leafs when meeting Ottawa in the playoffs.

'96-'97, W 4-3
'98-'99, W 4-0
'05-'06, W 4-1
'06-'07, L 1-4

The only Sens playoff win vs Buffalo came the year they choked in the '07 final.

Realistically ''platehead'' you should completely layoff the Sens threads.

Because you know next to nothing about Ottawa as a city or the Sens as a team.

I know, I know you went on a field trip to Ottawa when you were in school and you hated the city yada yada yada lol

And you delusionally believe that the fans boo Alfie every time he touches the puck at Scotiabank place.

Now you believe that the Sens have only ever made it to the finals once in their history which of course is not true.

Actually they have won 4 cups in their history.

The last one being in 1927. Which is about as relevant as the Leafs winning in 1967.

yeah yeah the team folded for decades and then coned the league into an expansion franchise. Same city though and same name.

And they didn't choke in 07. They got beat by a better team.

In closing just skip the Sens threads. Your just embarrassing yourself.

hahaha ... I'm sure that won't dissuade him, Oracle. I must admit that it's kinda fun to hate a team (as I do his vaunted blue team) and it's quite obvious that Ironhead hates the Sens. I don't know why he seems to hate the city though. It's a pretty cool city to live in.

You sir, are a buffoon.

In the years the Leafs beat the Sens in an early round series, how'd the Leafs do in the playoffs those years? Did Toronto win the Cup? No.

Using your analysis, they choked. They didn't win the Stanley Cup, so..... they choked.

You're being kind calling him a buffoon.

Let's call a spade a spade shall we.

The years that the Leafs beat the Sens. The primary reason was that Cujo and later Belfor stood on their heads.

The Sens clearly out played the Leafs in every series except in 01.

Now Goaltending is all part of the game but to try and gloat over winning when it's obvious that your team deserved to lose is shallow to say the least.

haha meathead, i see you have your own fan club now.

i fail to see how any team skilled, talented and lucky enough to reach the stanley cup finals, "chokes" when they do not win it.

seeing as you are a leaf fan, i will just say....1967. enough said meathead.

Apparently the 'energy-less' Sabres blamed the loss on food poisoning and not the 'mighty' Senators can always manage to beat them up on ice in regular season games. Losers always have excuses.

According to Wikipedia, Ottawa has won the cup 11 times, while Toronto has won it only 13 times.
Based on the number of years each team has played Ottawa's winning percentage is far superior of that to Toronto's.
So Flathead , shutup until you get some facts straight, the laffs have been choking since '67.

First it was some of the Sabres getting food poisoning before playing Ottawa & now it's Minnesota's equipment burning up in a truck fire outside Scotiabank Place today. Draw your own conclusions! ;)
