I am staying with Leaf Nation from which I never stray.
Do I want Spezza on the Leafs ? Not at $8.mil, but if the Sens waived him and took 50% of his contract I would take him in a heart beat.

I hate to admit it but Spezza be might a little to soft for Wilson and Burke.

He has had back issues since training camp and compounded with the loss of heatley, his production has suffered greatly.

I still suspect that the Leafs will squeak into the playoffs this year even without that playmaking centre they so covet.

I think the Leafs would take him, Spezza, at 50% though.
As for the Leafs in the playoffs I agree, but that is more of a statement against the teams in the East rather then how close the Leafs are to contention.

For sure they would take him.

The Leafs couldn't afford to take Spezza, even at 50%. Cap issues.

If it meant getting Spezza at 50%, the Leafs could make it happen.
They would just have to send someone down.
