I thought all the players were staying within a 'bubble'. Guess that didn't happen or perhaps the bubble burst.
Apparently the public had access to the hotels. And it's been suggested the players should have had individual rooms instead of being paired up.

Wasn't a bubble even tho some people called it that way. They were simply instruct to follow specific measures. But the hotel had other guest. This is a very very contagious airborne virus... Heck they found out 2 days ago one of the hotel had a wedding planned this week-end...

They are planning to re-schedule, maybe in June 2022.
It would be nice but with all the planning and all the many pieces to fall in place I dont think its goin to happen.

Ho hum, back to the NHL with many players going thru the motion for 50 games

Hahaha...

Russians behaving badly is nothing new.

I forget the exact year but Canada was playing for a Gold Medal whereas Russia was playing for nothing so as soon as the puck was dropped the Russians physically attacked the Canadian players who fought back thus disqualifying Canada from the game and the Gold Medal.

It was 1987 in Piestany...Canada wasn’t that innocent.

Hard to believe it was 1987 (34 years ago). I remember I turned on the TV a bit late. WTF, all I saw were bodies and equipment lying all over the ice and then they turned off the lights.

They are hoping to re-start the tournament in mid-August.

I haven't followed the juniors very closely since the Habs lost the Junior Canadiens and the Petes.

I don’t know...are all those players, like almost all of them, gonna want to play that tournament in August with NHL training camps around the corner? Would NHL teams want that?

The kids will look at it as "unfinished business", the NHL may see it as more development time. A lot of these guys would probably be invited to rookie camps anyway.

It's doubtful even a single kid invited to join his country's National Junior Team for the tournament will refuse.

I would say if an NHL team advises them not to play they won’t...
The only time that would happen is if the kid is still junior eligible, but already playing with the big club, and/or is definitely going to stick with them for the entire season. Exceptionally rare. Otherwise, the big clubs always want to see what they can do head to head against the best of their peers.
