I'd like to add for consideration as the greatest player to wear a leaf uniform the following:

Norm Ullman
Jacques Plante
Turk Broda
Johnny Bower

Can you tell I played goal in minor hockey?

Norm Ullman to me is one of the most underrated hockey players of all time. He was a great scorer, superb defensive centerman and played the game clean.

C'mon Norrrrrmiiiiieeee.

I don't think it's appropriate to pick players who only played a few years for the Leafs out of a long career mostly elsewhere and at a higher level than for the Leafs.

Andy Bathgate
Glenn Anderson
Eric Lindros
Bernie Parent
Grant Fuhr
Gary Unger

Ever??

Greatest in the modern era; Darryl Sittler, Wendel, and Dougie in a dead on tie.

In the early era; Horton, Bathgate and Bailey equally

Criteira; Early = before 1967 expansion
Modern = After 1967

Yes I know Horton spanned them both. But as a Leaf his most powerful years were prior to 1967

easier answer...wendel clark
I hate to say it but I agree with Dimitri

Best all around player, with a heart that bleeds blue & white...

He always stood out even though he played on some pretty sad Leaf teams.

Honorable mention to

Salming
Gilmour
Sittler
Keon

Matts would probably be about 10th on my list

As of now..... no, but if Mats becomes the all-time high scorer for the Leafs and can some how, with a miracle it appears, bring the cup to Toronto then he'll get my vote.

There is only one Leaf listed for a career leading category...

Only one Toronto Maple Leaf has an all time career best stat. This record has stood the test of time for over 20+ years. If you are old enough to remember him ridding his stick and taunting other teams endlessly, you may know him as David "Tiger" Williams the all time King of penalty minutes.

GP G A P PIM
NHL Totals 962 241 272 513 3966

His lifetime stats for offence are average at best (.53 pts game) or 43 points a season pro rated to 82 games per year for comparison purposes to todays game. Considering all that time he spent in the sin bin (338 pro rated minutes). Could he be considered an early version of a "power forward"? LOL

The ONLY Leaf that has a career number one seeding in a logged statistic.

You can view other all time NHL stats at the link below.
