There is no context when you say that she seemed rehearsed, as if that was something bad.
I think you have me confused with another poster. 🤷‍♂️

I don't think we can assume that.
Taking over and launching a campaign on short notice is a lot of work and I don't think she's been wrong that communicating directly through social media and speeches was better for getting her message out than indulging the white house press.

Did that necessary launch work include getting her scripted answers ready for obvious legacy media questions?
It's possible.
But I don't think we can simply say it was just that.

She was solid against Pence in 2020.
The Democratic primary debates were different with the multi-person format.

That said, I do think she was better here - this was an impressive performance.
But it was also a performance tailored to fuck up Trump.
I don't know if the strategy of "dangle some bait and let the other guy implode because he can't resist taking it" is one that she ever had before so we don't know if she was capable of it in 2020.
Always enjoy my discussions with you , Sir Valcazar

As a prosecuter I am sure she was well rehearsed in the tactic of baiting defendants
which is why I thought she was going to demolish him

Because she was a prosecuter who had dealt with people like Trump, as she has told America on several times, her debate tactics were thought out more by her then her team IMHO

She showed America she is a leader and Trump is a angry old man full of lies

A wiser Trump would have listened to better advisors and went on the offensive

Trump lost debate more than Harris won it

A more subtle thought , Trump talks about wild stuff like cat eaters so that is what is discussed by the press instead of his incompetence as President.

Just a thought

+1, a felon is usually not a match for a prosecutor

Exactly. Harris's amused facial expressions and her hand under her chin at the same time while Trump was speaking were reminders of how my exe's often used to react when I was stating my side of a heated "discussion"...

Standard entitled female tactics...
And? Does that mean she was wrong? I am not sure i understand what you mean by female tactics. Are you another misogynistic old fart maybe?

A fact check moderators missed

On Tuesday evening, Trump criticized Harris’s clean energy approaches like reducing fracking and fossil fuel emissions. He claimed those policies do not work and cited Germany as an example.

Germany tried that and within one year they were back to building normal energy plants. We’re not ready for it. We can’t sacrifice our country for the sake of bad vision,” Trump added.

But Germany refuted that claim, telling the former president, “Like it or not: Germany’s energy system is fully operational, with more than 50 % renewables. And we are shutting down – not building – coal & nuclear plants. Coal will be off the grid by 2038 at the latest.”

But they have faced setbacks over the last few years when they, controversially, chose to shut down their remaining three nuclear power plants last year and faced potential energy shortage issues at the start of the Ukraine–Russia war.

This meant Germany had to rely more on its coal-powered plants longer than anticipated to avoid a catastrophic shortage and starve-off price increases.

But the country has not built any new coal plants and continues to shut down some each year.

Maybe. Maybe not. But obviously she was doing everything she could to get under his skin, including non-verbal taunting. And it worked.

I respect a lot of things about women, and generally get along with them just fine, but some of them feel they can cross "the respect line" with impunity.

My mother, and society, taught me to never hit a woman. And I never did.

Doesn't mean they don't sometimes deserve a smack doing stuff that, if they were a male, would get a physical reaction from another male they were doing it to...

When Fox's Host Neil Cavuto even admitted that Trump decisively lost the debate. This has pissed off Trumpty Dumbty who thinks that he won hands down:

His cult followers eat that up! Figuratively and literally! He was race baiting his followers by implicating Haitian immigrants/refugees (ie: darkies) in all the disaster Trump predicts and how the USA is failing etc.

That's why he didn't lose any approval from Republican voters after showing how easily he is baited into going off on ridiculous lying rants.

Like I have said before, I wouldn't vote for either Trump or Harris even if I could vote. Not too crazy about Tim or JD either.

And I wouldn't' vote for Trudeau, Poilievre, or Singh.

Let's face it, I do not have much respect for politicians in general.

As for Presidents who were womanizers, let's not forget Thomas Jefferson, Grover Cleveland, Richard Nixon, JFK, LBJ, Ronald Reagan, George H. W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and of course "The Donald". And that's only those we know of. Do you think they all got these women to have sex with them because they were so hot and handsome?

The proper way to deal with a bullshitter or the gish gallop is not to try to challenge every point but to bait them into the worst of their bullshit. Regardless of whether they are male or female. Laughing at a bullshitter is a smart move, far better than trying to argue 'no Donald, Haitians are not eating the dogs and cats'. She did that really well, letting rump string himself out.

She called him out on his favourite bullshit, crowd sizes, how loved he is, how smart he is, how everything and everyone is against him.

Suggesting that she needed to be hit just trends towards that MAGA incel thing where you just get angry and whine about being cancelled when people call out bullshit.

As Harris pointed out, he's also a rapist. Being a rapist trying to ban abortion and calling single women 'cat ladies' is going to kill those votes.

I'm not aware of this standard. Is it codified anywhere? If not, that was always one of the issues with a judicial ruling.
This refers to the long-standing for decade Supreme Court decision in Roe. In the Senate hearings each of the new Trump Supreme court nominees said as I recall that a long-standing ruling should not easily be overturned. But they did and in polls about 80% of the US wants to return to the 24 week standard of Roe.
