Very glad to see them win, wiping out the Yankees in the process makes it that much more sweeter...

and, I wonder how Nomar feels right about now...

I heard they're giving him his cut of the playoff money.

The series was actually quite boring. The 1st game was the only one that had any drama. Compare this to the NLCS/ALCS series. Not only did they go 7 but almost every game had drama and good plays, not like the base running errors and no (clutch) hitting and no pitching the Cards delivered.

Yes Baby! Too bad they never got it done with the Rocket, or against the Rocket for that matter.

Bye bye Bambino curse!

In the laboratory.
Booga-booga!!

The curse is gone? Well now, let's wait and see. Perhaps members of this Bosox team will suffer the same fate as some of those who opened ancient Egyptian tombs, i.e. strange and inexplicable deaths!!! I, for one, think that'd be real cool. :p

What an accomplishment...Spend $125 million for a baseball team. Yea, way to go...What a loser sport.
Just because baseball has the money to pay them that kind of money doesn't make it a loser sport. If the NHL had the kind of money MLB did, their players would be making as much money...

agree with ocean all the way...

as for the series not being dramatic, did anyone really expect it to be? The pinnacle was the Yanks/Sox series, I mean I am glad Boston won and all but I knew the World Series would be a downer...also huge credit has to go to the Sox pitching they totally shut down the highest scoring team in the NL...Cardinals scored what 12 runs in 4 games and 6 of those were unearned runs? St. Louis was hitting .312 at home averaging 7.2 runs a game...Boston held them to 1 meaningless run and 7 hits...

It didn't really surprise me, or even disappoint me, that the series wasn't that great. I can't count the number of times, in any sport, when the semi's haven't been better the finals. Boston/NY was the championship.

Yep, the World Series was definitely anti-climactic, and it became hard to believe the Cards won 105 games during the regular season, given how hapless they looked during the series. Personally, I am very happy for the Red Sox and for Boston fans. I think they deserved to win.

What I think is a possible fallout from the Bosox winning is that now Chicago fans will think the Cubs have a chance to win. That is the problem with Cubs' fans--they are willing to glom onto any remote sliver of hope, no matter how much of a longshot it is. I fully expect the Cubs' "curse" to go on for many more years.

I too think the series sucked but I'm a diehard Redbird fan. I would like to congragulate the Bosox on the ass whoopin they put on the Birds and if anyone would have told me Boston would win in four i would have bet the farm against it. Now to the Cubs ah screw the Cubs go White Sox. At least the shedule makers got it right for next year the Cubs and the Birds play each other a bunch in august and september.

very true. Some more examples

NBA: Bulls-Knicks in the mid '90's ECF was always better than the finals
NFL: 49ers-Cowboys in the mid-90's NFC championship games was considered who goes on to win
