I've been saying the exact same thing, for masks to really work everyone needs to wear N95 masks, not those flimsy things people are wearing now.

No mask is 100% effective. The very great vast majority (over 90-99%) of masks i see people wearing are working to reduce infections & save lives.

BTW, medical/surgical type masks and KN95 masks have been available online and or in Canadian stores since the beginning of the year and or since months ago.

Both vaccines are mRNA technology.
Pfizer's vaccine won't be pushed aside in the short term to be replaced by Moderna’s, none of the companies have the capability to supply the doses needed to the world in a timely manner. The rest about the doses and timeline needed for the Pfizer vaccine is different than it being pushed aside because countries need to buy special freezers which some countries already have.

The only way the Pfizer's vaccine will be pushed aside in the short term is if many of the other companies in vaccine development are approved and their vaccines are more like Moderna's in terms of storage.
No one expects this to happen.
Is there a possibility of it happening? In the short term highly unlikely
Will it happen in the long term? Possibly

The number of doses needed are so high and not one single company can produce that amount in a timely manner. Pfizer is producing 50Mln doses in two months and Moderna's production is similar, We'll be lucky if we can get 5% of the word population vaccinated by Mid 2021 with these 2 vaccines.
Also countries like Canada that have pre purchase orders for 20 million doses (10 Mln people) or UK who has 40 Million doses (20 Mln people) would not all of a sudden cancel their orders and wait for an option to purchase more vaccines down the road possibly in a years time from Moderna meanwhile accruing more unnecessary cases and deaths from the virus, and not being able to reopen their economy. For the mere investment of buying fridges which the UK had already done at government level.
There are many countries that have these pre purchased orders.

COVID-19 vaccines won’t ship to Canada until they are approved for use here

Canada will not receive any of the millions of prepurchased vaccine doses the federal government has ordered unless and until Health Canada approves the vaccine’s safety, says the minister in charge of vaccine purchase contracts.

Contracts signed with the most promising vaccine manufacturers to date do not provide for delivery to Canada or long-term storage here while regulatory approval is still pending, Public Services and Procurement Minister Anita Anand said Tuesday.

And even if the federal independent regulators swiftly approve any of the three vaccine candidates it is currently reviewing, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau acknowledged that Canada will likely be behind countries like the U.S., Germany and Britain “and others” where those vaccine manufacturers are based.

Trudeau said the countries where the Pfizer/BioNTech, Moderna and AstraZeneca vaccines are made will “obviously prioritize their citizens first” but he said Canadians will not have to wait long. He said the federal government secured the “best portfolio” of potential vaccines in the world that could potentially supply more vaccines per capita to Canada, than any other country.
