Rolling Stone compiled a list of the 100 Best TV shows of all time. It's very interesting, Fawlty Towers scores high. Games of Thrones is the wild card. Imho Emilia Clarke's aweful acting disqualifies it from Top 5 consideration. To GoTs credit, the show's first executive producer, Vanessa Taylor S1 - 3, would go on to win Best Picture as co-writer with Guillermo Del Toro for The Shape of Water.

The Wire is like Taboo, a slow burn. If you stay with it your patience will be rewarded. Michael K Williams, Idris Elba and Aidan Gillen (Littlefinger) and Michael B Jordan all built their careers from The Wire.

I Claudius was 30 years ahead of it's time. When the BBC aired it in 1976, it was a huge shock. British sensors rated it X at the time. HBO learned from their mistakes with Rome, that show had huge gaping plot holes and was too expensive to produce. They learned the lessons from Rome when they got around to making Game of Thrones.

I Claudius made stars out of John Hurt and Patrick Stewart, it is a must watch.

Hogan's Heroes (Don't know why they haven't made a movie yet)
Three's Company (They should do a porn of this if they haven't already)
Bay Watch (This was already soft core)
Leave it to beaver (Would make a great porn title)
Green Acres (Should not be made into porn due to farm animals)

I liked breaking bad and Thrones. I don't mind Vikings and just finished watching "the last kingdom" another medievale series.

A few of my favourite shows are missing from their list. I would definitely bump some to make room for these:
- The Knick
- Mr. Robot
- Banshee
- Sherlock (does that count?)
- Homicide:Life on the Street
- Trailer Park Boys (not realistic but still)
- How could SCTV not be on that list?
- Kids In the Hall (maybe?)

The WKRP suggestion from above was a funny one - I forgot about that show. It has disappeared because the music rights are too expensive to release it (I think). Someone else suggested a Bourdain show and that seems right - it seemed to have a lot of impact on a lot of people and was quite revered. Carol Burnett was another suggestion but it would be tough for it to make the list. I never watched Miami Vice but I'm surprised it wasn't on the list. That was a huge show, hell, even the soundtrack was a big seller.

Surprised Veep was on there but Silicon Valley wasn't. Eastbound & Down and Beavis & Butthead were good selections though.

Guys are mentioning Dexter, I liked Dexter too for a while, then I found it to be repetitive.

I hear Westworld supposed to be good.
