Yes, but then when I stick to retweets, certain people on terb get upset......LMAO
This is true. It's because you post one after the other after the other after the other without speaking for yourself. It hurts your credibility.

Well if Vladdy wants to be part of the 1st father/son duo in the hall of fame, then he would have signed with the Jays already. Since according to you, this is more important to Vladdy then money....LMAO
That makes no sense. You are claiming that he can only make the HoF if he stays with the Jays. Even you know that that is not the case. How many teams did his dad play for? 3, 4, 5?

I know what I'm talking about. I've been a Jays fan my whole life!! Just to age myself, I was even at the Jays franchise opening day game on April 7/1977, at the old Exhibition Stadium. If I recall correctly, Bill Singer was the Jays starting pitcher, and Doug Ault was the big hero of the game. It was also snowing heavily that day. Good times, indeed!!
2 home runs for Ault. Years later he committed suicide.

You ever consider that he just doesn't want to play in Toronto anymore?

Maybe he's pricing himself out on purpose.
I heard Shi Davidi saying that whenever he's interviewed Vladdy, he seems sincere about wanting to stay here. Not giving a home town discount is different than trying to price himself out of the city.

Honestly though what would you expect him to say?..Soto was raving about the Yankees last year right up until they lost to the Dodgers then it was I'll wait and see what the others offers are, lol...

Toronto Blue Jays' spring training statistics, (all players)

Hitting

Pitching

I don't attach a lot of significance to spring training stats. They ARE important for those players who are fighting for a bench position or to be part of the back end of the bullpen, but they don't matter for anyone else. It can be deceiving when a known stiff like Myles Straw is batting .458 with a 1.129 OPS in a 24 at bat sample. What you can't tell from that is whether or not he did that damage against minor league pitchers, or Major Leaguers who weren't using their 'game stuff'. Some significance ought to be applied to starting pitchers' last one or two starts of the spring, or when older players are performing significantly above or below expectations.

Some years ago, a guy named Mike Laga had a huge spring, possibly leading MLB in spring training home runs. He never hit more than three for any one team in any regular season.

There was, however, another guy who went yard repeatedly in the spring of 1990, following his under-the-radar signing following a single season in Japan, after playing approximately one full season of at bats over four Major League seasons. His name was Cecil Fielder, and he went on to hit 51HRs for the 1990 Tigers.

Vladdy's ask of just below $600M was way outside of market for a first baseman. I don't blame the Jays for not biting. At the same time, as I mentioned before I think part of Vlad's big ask was that he wanted to be on a contender, and the Jays have yet to prove it (now that part I blame on Toronto management) So he threw out a huge number which is understandable. I don't think he gets that figure on that open market in winter 2025, but now of course the risk is you are competing against 3 or 4 other teams.

You can't just throw away 2022 and 2023 as if they have never happened and only look at the great (2021 and 2024) He is not at the level of a Judge, Soto, or Ohtani who have been far more consistent)

21 was covid year and jays played in a small park so it does not count

One great year and Vlad thinks he is Judge and Vlad is a first base man and that is where teams
put power hitters who cannot play anywhere else

I would not sign him for half a billion

trade him and let someone else do it

If jays are out of it at deadline he will be worth something along with Bo and a few pitchers

We will get twice the haul of last year deadline so I kinda hope they lose

Gotta think of the future

Yes, Vladdy is way too greedy. Would be kind of funny if Vladdy had an awful year this upcoming season, and then comes crying to the Jays to re-sign him. Then Atkins and Shapiro will give Vladdy a low ball offer, and i will be laughing tremendously!!
I agree and I suspect it is his greedy agent that talked Vlad him into bring so greedy

Half a billion like WTF!!! You turn it down? What if you lose your timing? What if you get injured? You have just lost half a billion??

What is another few million????????? WTF do you need it for??????? In a conservative index fund 500,000,000 times 6% is 30 million a year and you have not touched the principle

I know it is not that much as taxes will be huge and most of that money is deferred and there is inflation eating away at the principle
but fuck me Vlad is thinking with his dick

I don't know if this report is true, but if it is, it shows that Shapeero is finally seeing what 90% of the baseball world sees.

Report: Blue Jays set to offer a 14-15 year deal worth $550 to $600 million to Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

What is another few million?
Or one could ask, what is $3.5M/yr to a company as large as Rogers especially when you risk losing your credibility with the fan base, decreased attendance, decreased stadium sales, merchandising, viewership and the resultant lower advertising rates?

Why do you criticize a guy who is willing to bet on himself AND assume the risk.
