We are a hop, skip, and a jump away from 2007 attendance. The home opener had a sellout. After that, I’m seeing a lot of empty seats on the weekend and so far this week, which I guess would be more expected for weekdays. The game I went to on Sunday was already showing signs of low attendance. I was behind the behind the plate and that whole section is generally filled up, but you could easily hear crickets in the fifth deck and quite a few crickets in the third deck. I think the official attendance number for Sunday was around 27,000. Guys this team better start doing something soon or else 8000 is around the corner.

Philip
... Philip/ Toronto Passions remarked that attendance was down....

Wait, I said what? Lol I don’t study numbers on attendance.I just use my eye test.

Philip
That all happened on the this and the previous page of this thread. Perhaps it's time to ask your doctor to give you the Alzheimer's vaccine shot?

Yeah, thank you for looking that up. Personally, I just don’t have time. Are you suggesting attendance is precisely not down compared to previous years? Sorry I couldn’t read everything you were saying, but if that is what you’re saying then you’re wrong according to the Toronto Sun….

My point is that the sample is too small. The Jays just won three straight home games against a really bad team. It has no significance yet.

People in Toronto are focused on Hockey right now.

Keep in mind that on an off day for the team, the Sun baseball beat columnist needs to write something.

Says the guy thinks a cold morning on Apr 2, proves that there's no climate change. He looked like a fool and that was when he blocked me.
Umm...so you know that you're on Phil C. McNasty's Ignore list, (without reading his signature quote), and you reply to him with quote, knowing in advance that he won't read it. You just played yourself.

I know exactly what I'm doing. Do you know how to stop from being so pompous?

Still waiting for you points list. LOL

Your points list is as real as Santa Claus.

Did you see this at the theater when it was a new release?

..oh sure, as soon as the Toronto Sun puts your analytics in question now it’s all about them needing to find something to write. I’m totally joking buddy. I actually like your analytics. It’s helpful.

Springer is too classy to say I told you so.

Did your relative in Dodger management get his/her world series ring?
Yes, they did. And they got one for 2020 because they’ve been there for about 15+ years. I wish I could just disclose who it is, but I can’t take that chance on posting openly, especially within this industry.

I’m planning a trip to LA in August for the Blue Jays series and Mario world at Universal Studios Hollywood, and that awesome train ride that goes through movie effect scenes lol. I love LA.

Philip, I'm a Toronto native, but I lived in or near Montreal from age 8-23. This allows me to have interest in the Blue Jays because they play in the local market, but without vested interest in the team, because I'm more of a fan of the sport, rather than of the home side.

As Michael Corleone was wont to say, 'It's nothing personal, strictly business'. This is why I think an extension for Vlad Guerrero is a bad idea, from a business perspective. If the Jays had most of the Baltimore Orioles' roster of young, cheap, controllable talent, I would be all in for locking up Vlad long term, because he could be the difference between having a World Championship team and having an ALCS loser. I see a multi year rebuild as a necessity, if they Jays want to legitimately contend for prizes that matter. Postponing the inevitable only extends the rebuilding stage.

There was a quote I posted in the Blue Jays 2024 thread where someone said that season's team goal was 'to win a post season game'. That sort of mentality guarantees perpetual mediocrity. In sports, it's much better to finish last than to finish 8th.

Get ready because I think it’s going to happen soon. There’s been some new reports that came out saying they are close. But honestly, he’s playing like such a dud right now. I don’t think this guy can bat second.

Maybe he's waiting until the pennant race is over before starting to accumulate personal statistics, like last year.
