Now,the Jays are 'almost' dead in the water. Which teams would you watch and cheer for in October? I watch and cheer on the...Cleveland...cause EE's playing there! Houston would be my next team to support to win the WS. Houston looks real similar to last year Cubs!

I think it might be Dodgers year. Those c*nts havent won anything since 1988.

Just goes to show how hard it is, to not only win a pennant, but then go on to win the whole thing

Very, very difficult, you need all the pieces to come together at the right time, and then you probably also need some luck to go with it

Who is Valdez? He went 6IP and got his first ML win in 7+ years!
Also Goins is 4th on the team with 35 RBI's. Thats more than JD, Tulo, and Martin, which is around $60mm in payroll. Yeah they've been injured but they also have more PA than him.
Not saying Goins is anything great, just pointing out how bad our vets have been thru 100 games.

you omitted the fact that Goins is a back up player and is often platooned with Barney when there is a place for him to play. Goins numbers with RISP are very impressive.

Excellent game tonight, what a finish.

Smoak crushes one to tie it, and Morales seals the deal. I was thinking once Smoak tied it, extra innings were on the way. Happy to have that idea short lived :)
56 seconds.

The length of time between Toronto trailing & the game being complete.

It's rare but I think teams that are 6-10 games behind have won the pennant and the Jays only need to claim a Wild Card.

Didn't realize to-day's game was in the afternoon. Just saw the highlights. Maniac umpire strikes again. 4 straight wins.

It's a good day when Jays win and nobody got hurt.

Never say die attitude in the past two games. Was nice to see. I think to some extent (not a great deal, but some), the pressure is off now that they're out of it so stringing together some wins doesn't seem as insurmountable.

They said on AM590 it was hindering his ability to see the breaking balls.

So he ditched it
I don't buy that. It doesn't take half a season to realize it's hindering his ability to see breaking balls.

More likely he knows he's having a bad year and is looking for anything to help turn it around. He didn't wear it until now so maybe that's the problem. Could be a total mind fuck but he's a baseball player and most of the game is mental.

It also helps that they're playing the worst team in the American League.

Jays tend to struggle more against weak teams than strong teams.

Despite it being Oakland (terrible record at Rogers Centre) the ability of the Blue Jays to string together 4 wins, 2 from behind no less, is something that they should be proud of (especially this season).
