So Trump won accepting a 1.3 billion plan to strengthen the border that had already been announced Jan. 15th as a continuing part of Canadas border plan relesed in Dec. 2024.

The problem is small, but with Trump its not thought out, not logical, and this delay is to allow him to get his act together regarding tariffs. In 30 days time we shall what Trump does. Now he wants more US banking in Canada. His illogical demands will continue. Time would tell.

There was also the deployment of drones and Black Hawk helicopters for surveillance.
Compare it to this release from Jan 15th. as part of the Border defence plan annouced Dec. 2024.
One new element appears to be the appointment of a "fentanyl tsar" and a $200m intelligence directive.
