It is more than just you and "free time". Generally, all roads get impacted by this. Emergency vehicles can take a lot longer to get to their destination. It is well within the realm of possibility people who need medical assistance can die simply because these protestors feel it is their right to "slow everyone down".

While I agree with all roads being impacted by this, my post was not exactly about me and my "free time". Go back a few pages.

It is about these fuckers having no right to interfere the way they did. There was nothing that could have been classified even remotely as "correct", including violating the Highway Traffic Act, causing a nuisance in the neighbourhood of Spadina/Gardiner, etc..

Actually, you do raise a good point. When neither I nor anyone else give a fuck regarding these protesters, it is not about them but all about those innocently affected by them.

serious they need to be stopped arrested/deported the demonstration is just costing more and more money for taxpayers esp since im sure there will be a huge police presence at downtown rally of a estimated 100,000 .


hell 100k people is the capacity of 4-5 BMO fields attendance ....hell if each of them donated 20 $ each instead of wasting hours of time they would have 2 mill for there cause .

Tamil protesters planning to stage another demonstration Wednesday

Drivers are being warned to avoid the downtown core as thousands of Tamil supporters are expected to block major intersections with another protest Wednesday.

The demonstrators are expected to gather at Queen's Park and Union Station at about noon, and will participate by forming a human chain on University Avenue and Yonge Street.

The organziers say they're asking protesters to remain calm and peaceful, and they're also asking for donations to the Daily Bread Food Bank.

Protesters were also denying reports they are planning on blocking major 400-series highways.

Thousands of Tamil protesters flooded onto the Gardiner Expressway late Sunday afternoon, staying until after midnight and shutting down one of the country's busiest freeways.

The demonstrators want the Canadian government to press for a ceasefire in Sri Lanka, where they say fighting has killed thousands of civilians, though the figures cannot be verified.
