Maybe this is a stupid thread but I feel like ranting.

Ordered Swiss Chalet the other night and they accidentally gave me someone else's order while giving another person mine. I could not get through to them - kept getting put on hold. They asked me three times what province I was in.

I had the receipt and phone number of the woman who got my meal and called her and we chatted for a little bit. She was cool. :) Anyway, they then brought her original order and gave it to her for free because of the mistake.

They said they would bring my order within 30 minutes and it would be free. They never showed up. And never answered the phone. The next day they said they have no record of my phone call or order. Despite the fact that they delivered a meal (the wrong one) to my door.

I will never use them again. Rant over. LOL
I am a little surprised that you ordered takeout especially from a low end place like that. I have seen the movies and ladies who choose to be courtesans are wined and dined in the city's top restaurants by distinguished gentlemen of a certain age. I always imagine ladies on the board here sipping champaign at one of those boutique hotels. Am I wrong? :))

What can I say? I had the munchies. LOL

When I'm hungry, I don't discriminate.

First World Problems...
........which occur after people work hard to make a place First World.

Back to the topic......I miss Kenny Roger's roaster. The chicken was tasty and tender, and the variety of sides was numerous.

A few other things about chocolate - they have to actually add fat to it as a preservative and in order to keep it from separating. However, what is even worse is the hydrogenated oils that they use to make most chocolate. If you see hydrogenated in the ingredient list, it contains trans-fat, and that is evil, evil, evil stuff. Forget about good cholesterol and bad cholesterol, trans-fats just cling right to your arteries. Both the US and Canadian governments are on the cusp of banning them completely from the food supply.
Hydrogenated oils in most milk chocolate bars? I didn't know that. What about dark chocolate?

Cara foods is watching their profit margins and is definitely providing less and charging more...
A lot of companies are doing that these days. Only way they can keep their profits up without charging more.

I used to really like Swiss Chalet but now I find their portions have shrunk so much that I'd rather just go elsewhere, even if I pay more. I don't find there's value for my money with Swiss Chalet.

Five Guys is a bit extreme but the positive impression they leave you with is, "We're not going to be chintzy with our fries, here's a boatload for ya!"

Ever try George's Chicken on Dundas (near Filmore's)? It's a hole in the wall but their roasted chicken is delicious.

There are also some of the Portuguese chicken places around town.

I was Swiss Chalet the other week. It was okay. But restaurants like Montana's have better roast chicken dinners.
