My internet has been down since Monday evening (I'm at work right now in Mississauga). I called Rogers last night and they told me that lost internet is widespread.

Just curious how many others are having problems. I had no loss of power and my cable for TV has been fine.

I thought the whole point of the internet was that everything was spread around and interconnected. So, no matter what, communication would always be possible. I think they have it in mind that the internet would survive a nuclear war.

It's only a small jump from that, to the Rogers end of the internet going down in a rainstorm.

If you're a business client of Rogers and have a service level agreement with them, then there should be some 'guarantee' of service. I'm sure the contract is written in such a way that natural disasters and thermonuclear war would be excluded from the SLA.

Rogers suck.. I use Tekksavvy, running on Rogers line but paying a fraction of the cost and haven't had any downtime whatsoever ;)
