Holy f**k are people delusional.

Hstory will show the very last thing Justin Trudeau cares about is Canada or Canadians. In time it will be proven he was the worst “leader” Canadians have ever elected.
Whatever you say, Swami. I say he has done decent job with the covid issue and you rightwing hypocrites won't change that fact by continually posting the blackface pic. These convoy assholes are racist and undemocratic ( see Pat King and friends) and have no right to occupy Ottawa streets for over 3 weeks. Most of the restrictions are being lifted anyway ( and not because of the illegal tantrums). Blocking border crossings is an attack on Canada and if freezing funding stops the foreign interference.... good! The declaration of Emergency is nothing like the War Measures Act. He patiently waited for the idiots to have their say, but after 3 weeks of bullshit, it was time to move 'em out.

so not a fringe minority? it was a strategic move to be heard...JT was smug about it from the beginning just like he always does...have you really seen him met anyone halfway that opposes him?he does this all the time.he doesn't listen to those with a differing view...he just dismisses them...I'm no righty by any means but always enjoy a good laugh when they get smug and dismissive and then it blows up in their faces...like I said. I like JT he needs to be aware of his surroundings, politics is a dirty game and people will throw him under the bus at every opportunity.

BLM attacked Pearl Harbour!

He may be a moron yet Trudeau continues to trigger Conservatives, the latest being Pierre Poliviere. I don't think his own party likes him much, he's the only one to declare his intent to lead the Party while the anarchists occupy Wellington St. He's been cuddling with the so-called truckers, he can hardly bring himself to say that they should disband. With support for the Federal Conservatives collapsing, the Weasel has taken balls to the chin.

If they were NOT just a fringe minority, wouldn't the following have happened:

1. They would have been joined by 10,000's others and forced JT out of office - which was their overall, original aim.
2. The mandates would have ended totally within a couple of days.
3. The OPP and RCMP would have refused to clear the Ambassador Bridge.
4. Blockades would have sprung up all over - 100's of them.
5. The Tories would be out there with the protestors now. Instead, the Tories drew back and denounced the kkkonvoy, after initially supporting it.
6. JT would not have dared announce emergency powers.
7. Dooger would not have announced a state of emergency in ON.

If this was truly a people's movement against tyranny, the government would have fallen by now. Instead, it's a racist, fringe, micro-minority, led by wacko, racist, fringe extremist organizers and which contains terrorist, violent elements and which the ordinary people hate.

Did you forget that the George Floyd protesters who shut down an entire block in Minnesota for over a year or the takeover of a section of Seattle and Portland for months? The protest in Ottawa is peaceful. The emergencies act is bullshit
These "occupations" were also peaceful, though it sounds like you wanted police action to break them up....

Look, as I've said, I'm all for protests. But, when illegal stuff happens, there should be police action. I understand why the cops might be reluctant to use force to break up a protest against police brutality. However, the cops in Minneapolis did a lot of shady shit during the initial protests that made the situation worse.

Portland....that was an area where a lot of right-wing agitators were caught doing shady shit, including arson (now, I'm not saying all the arson was them, just some of it).

Neither of these occupations/protests are like what is going on in Ottawa. They didn't have tractor trailers blocking traffic, they didn't have protesters harassing citizens. They didn't have bouncy castles or hot tubs...

The Emergencies Act is designed to allow the protests to end peacefully, without police having to swoop in and clear them out. Will that happen? It could at some point. This also allows them to save face, since they can say they couldn't afford to stay there. Nearly everyone wants a peaceful solution.

I don't know if any prime minister would do it. Half the Premiers are opposed to it. They are all leaders. I doubt Harper would have the mandates Trudeau does, hence no protest. That's what they are protesting. The mandates. I doubt Trudeau would do this if it was a Liberal cause. He wouldn't alienate his voters. These people didn't vote for him so he doesn't care. Let me ask you this. Lots of countries have had protests over mandates. Why hasn't any other leader felt the need to go this far? Our national security is not threatened so why invoke this act? The border issue in Windsor was done even before he invoked the act because the police did their job. He doesn't like the protesters and what they stand for and it is a petty act by a petty man.
I think Harper would do the exact same thing. As I've mentioned, I'm not the biggest Harper fan, but he did what was needed to help the country. Let me put it this way, he was a supporter of business, but not bailouts. When the financial crisis happened, his government went against its usual policies to make sure we came through.

As for the mandates....most of the ones these people don't like are provincial. Canada could lift the border mandate, but the US still has it. So, WTF would that change? You also seem to think that he is acting this way because they didn't vote for him with no evidence.

As for national security being threatened: When about half of all the donations are coming in from foreign sources to fund illegal activity....that feels like it could be a security threat. Is it overblown? Maybe. But I seem to recall right-wing people getting bent out of shape when foreign funded environmental groups protested the oil sands. Amazing how they now feel this is alright...

And the Windsor protest was not done until after he invoked the act. Then there were border blockades yesterday in Alberta and Manitoba.

I'm not saying the Emergencies Act was the best course of action, but I do understand why it is happening. There comes a time when things go too far. And the Ottawa police do bear a lot of this responsibility for not acting decisively when they first came to town. They allowed them to dig in and this issue has festered ever since. On top of that, where was the premier? Hiding out at his cottage. He could have shown some decisive leadership for a provincial matter, but he didn't. Now, I'm not saying he did nothing because he wanted to hurt Trudeau (which may be true), or that he did nothing because he knows some of that crowd is his base (probably more likely), but the fact is....he did nothing. Heck, Ford is supportive of Trudeau invoking the act, as are a bunch of other premiers.

Not even 100k protesters can easily depose a PM. I've been in a revolution...nothing like this to be honest. You need the military, the police force, more than 50% of the population, big businesses to unseat an incumbent leader. But just because those factors are not present doesn't mean they are a fringe minority. This is like saying BLM and Antifa are fringe minorities...these are not fringe minorities. They all have legit claims....you guys keep dismissing the cause and call them criminals...yet the lefts keep justifying the burning of Kenosha...it's not even close.

Not funny how easy it is for a moron to declare war on the free citizens in a free country for absolutely no reason.

JTs just a bully. Going after the marginalized 10%. Why not just leave them alone, our vaccination program was a success and we’ll ALL be unvaccinated in 4 months.

There’s still a lot of vaccinated racist pricks out there. The vaccine won’t change that.

No they were not peaceful, Several people were shot in Seattle and there were arsons committed in both Seattle and Portland. In Minnesota an entire block was unavailable to vehicles for a year. How do you think those businesses did? It was called George Floyd square. In Seattle the protesters took over a section of the city and fenced it off. They called it the autonomous zone or CHAZ where you couldn't enter unless they let you. If you believe the police should be called into Ottawa to remove the protesters. Then you should believe the same in regards to Minnesota, Seattle and Portland. They took over areas that caused issues for the residents that live there. I'm for protests too but I don't believe in blockades. The Ottawa protesters should leave or be forced to leave by the police. Seattle and Portland were worse than the Ottawa situation. Minnesota I don't think it was as much because it was only one block but it did last for over a year

Go find me proof that anyone on this board "justified the burning of Kenosha". Fact is, no one ever justified that or excused it and the constant allegations are wearing pretty fucking thin.

You don't in fact need the long list of support you claim. But you do need a decent sized minority of the population - say about 10% and these have to be sufficiently committed to act.

If you needed all the support you list, the Cuban, Russian and French Revolutions simply would not have happened.

I don't believe that for a second. He's acting like Trump would against Democrats. I'm pretty sure BLM received foreign money as well but that didn't matter I guess. I don't care what anyone says this is not a national security issue, it's a political one. I'm not right wing nor left. Both sides are hypocritical because of exactly what you stated. It's ok for their side to do something but if the other side does the same thing then they get pissed off. I'm pretty sure the bridge in Windsor was cleared before the act was invoked if not it was around the same time. One had nothing to do with the other. The police did their job. What do you mean Ford did nothing? He declared a state of emergency 5 days ago because of the convoys. He did wait to long, but Trudeau was also hiding out and did nothing except insult the protesters adding fuel to the fire just like Trump would have. Some Premiers are for it others are not. I would say it's split 50/50. It was a failure on all levels, Municipal, Provincial and Federal.

wrong...you can't depose a leader with just 10% to 40% you need substantial people power than that. Cuban , Russian and French Revolution will not work on todays climate...

First, I think this protest is not well thought out. Yes, Trudeau's government put in the mandate. But so did the USA. So, regardless if the government didn't have the mandate, this small group of truckers would be suffering the same fate.

Second, I'm sure Harper would have acted similarly to Trudeau. A deadly disease should not be a partisan issue. It has become one because of Trump. That's why you're hearing these protesters echo US protests about freedom and what not. Would Trudeau invoke the Emergencies Act on BLM if they did this? Impossible to tell, but my gut is he would because of what is going on.

Third, I'm curious what you want Trudeau to do? Meet with these people who were seriously calling for the overthrow of our democratically elected officials? Who would he speak with, white supremacists Pat King of the leader of the western separatists party? Should the PM meet with every group that decides to protest on parliament hill? Or, are you saying he should have invoked the emergencies act sooner and got the military involved? It's a serious question because you seem to think Trudeau has command of the police. Is that what you believe? What should he have done? What would any PM have done? Keep in mind, his family caught covid just as this thing started so he had to go into isolation. But even if he didn't....I just don't know what magical powers you think the PM could use to have resolved this earlier? Capitulate to their demands? That doesn't seem like a good idea....

Trudeau is right though, the majority of Canadians do not support this protest. At best, maybe 30%. Majority of Canadians have followed the rules, got their shots and have stayed safe. We've had 35K deaths, which many could have been preventable. But, if you look at the US where they are all over the map in regards to mandates and vaccination levels, they have 925K. The US population is roughly 100X Canada's. So, you can say that roughly we've had almost 1/3 fewer deaths. I mean, imagine if 90K Canadians died. So, what does this tell us? Our system, despite the restrictions, have save thousands of lives. The sad reality is that people who believe a lot of this protester stuff have died or will die because of the virus. And they'll likely bring some of their family or immunocompromised people with them.
