I think it's because Disney has made some, let's say some interesting choices over the years that have been a bit off brand. It's easy for everyone including Disney to be dragged into distracting political debate. Then on top of it Disney clearly has strategic and tactical business issues. They don't seem to have focus. So Disney is easy to kick around.
I just look at Snow White as a tired Disney franchise. The story is from 1812. When someone says a movie is a "reimagining", there's generally a lack of creative energy.

So.....that's why there are objective metrics like box office and an amalgamation of professional movie critics (who tend to be more liberal). Of course, critics are subjective but that's why I noted an amalgamation like rotten tomatoes. From what we can see, there is no word of mouth building for this movie.

And that is your opinion. I often have a hard time trying to determine what was the action and what was the reaction to cultural politics. If someone tells me that a university has 240 DEI specific administrators, I can say I think that is overkill.
