Juve won the super coppa against Napoli, they deserved it, they outplayed Napoli and Insignie missed a penalty, but it didn't really matter as Morata came in and scored a second goal. Cuadrado is back which helps a lot and Chiesa was subdued.

It does now look like Eriksen's career is ruined. There is no takers for him in the January transfer window.

Ironically, while everybody expected great things from Eriksen in Inter, nobody thought Braithwaite would play more than a few games for Barcelona.
Braithwaite has now become a regular starter.

In other news, the Norwegians are on a roll. Hauge, Haaland and Oedegaard.

The January transfer window hasn't closed yet, I'm still hoping that Roma pick up Eriksen's contract. The should if they want to be in the CL next year.

Hauge hasn't scored for Milan since he became a starter.

I hope too. I am worried for the Danish National team, where Eriksen is pivotal.

Atalanta 3 Milan 0...a not unexpected upset.

I was taken to task on a football board due to my promoting Ale too much because he's Italian. Those same people are probably shudding up right about now. Kjaer had to line up with Musachio, who shouldn't even be in the club anymore. The Dane had to cover more ground than he's comfortable with. He had his hands full with Duvan, without Ale, and was continuously harassed by Pessina playing in place of Papu Gomez. Atalanta are no longer weak on defense anymore and they are adaptable. They extract maximum money for players that transfer out. They got $35 million from Leicester for Timo Castagne. They are going to be giant killers for the remaining season.

Pierluigi Gollini has earned the right to go to the Euro.

I watched second half. Milan was outplayed, but Donnarumma and kjaer fought well.

Atalanta dominated Milan, I loved it. I like Atalanta, this is the first time I saw them bring Manzukich in. You know what, Theo is a great player but he is also rough and deserves what ever yellows he gets. When did he get suspended? He was taken out for Manzukich or Rebic..

You're right Theo did play but wasn't noticeable, he got pinned back by Hateboer. Kalulu was substituted by Musacchio after he got burned by Romero on the first goal. Then he got stretchered off. Are Atalanta the blue print for other clubs to follow post Covid? Milan paid the Bergamasci $32 million for Franck Kessie. Atalanta core are all developed from within, buying only what they need. I'd never seen Matteo Passina before, he's taking the place of Papu Gomez. Inter will pay through the nose for the spark plug Argie. No player is greater that the club.

When Ale was out at the start of the season, Milan got away with it. At this point of the season, it's like Redd Foxx says, "you can let your armpits go a coupla days maybe - but not your ass".

Von, have you heard of Harald Nielsen? He played for Bologna, called el freddo danese, and was capocannonieri in 1964 when Bologna won the league. He also played briefly for Inter, where he was part of the team that won the world cup for clubs(1-0) in a final against Santos with Pele, and Napoli and Sampdoria.
He was a celebrity in Denmark , called Gold Harald. He had movie star looks and married a movie star.
He only played a few games for the Danish National team before he turned professional in Italy. Denmark did not allow professionals on the National Team.

My interest in Serie A didn't start until CHCH started broadcasting the second half of matches back in 1977, never heard of Harald Nielsen. Inter won the Champions Cup in 64 then repeated in 65, was he part of those clubs?

Giacomo Bonaventura left Milan last summer, had it not been for all the injuries he would be considered one of Italy's best midfielders.

In the summer of 1960, he represented Denmark at the 1960 Summer Olympics football tournament in Rome. Denmark finished runners-up and Nielsen was the leading goals scorer of the tournament with 6 goals.

In 1961, Harald Nielsen moved abroad to play professionally for Bologna F.C. in Italy. At Bologna, il freddo danese (the cold Dane) was a part of the 1963–64 Serie A winning squad, and he was the Italian league topscorer in both 1963 and 1964. Following six seasons at Bologna, Harald Nielsen moved to Inter in 1967, in a transfer deal which made him the most expensive player in the world at the time. Although he started by winning the unofficial world cup for teams by beating Santos with Pelé 1–0 in New York, Nielsen did not find the same degree of success with Inter as in Bologna, and following years at S.S.C. Napoli and U.C. Sampdoria a back injury kept him mostly off the field, he ended his career in 1970.

We continue our series of Danish football players in Italy. Today we feature John Angelo Hansen.

Hansen scored seven goals in four games as Denmark won bronze medals at the summer Olympic games in London, including four goals in Denmark's 5–3 win against the Italian national team. Hansen's Olympic performance made his name well known across Europe, and drew the attention of several Italian teams. He signed a three-year contract with Juventus on 16 November 1948 for DKK111,111.11 ($23,500).

In the 1949–50 Juventus team, Hansen had an irreplaceable partner in another Danish player from the 1948 Olympics team, Karl Aage Præst. Præst was a left winger with electric dribbling skills who scattered opponents through the field and produced precise crosses to Hansen, who netted them thanks to his violent and precise header.[12] Juventus won the 1949–50 Serie A championship with Hansen scoring 28 goals in 37 games.[3]

In 1950, Hansen and Præst were joined by another Dane, captain of the 1948 Olympic team Karl Aage Hansen, who came from Serie A league rivals Atalanta Bergamo.[3] The great level of understanding of those three great Danes made John Hansen feel as if he could play with his eyes closed, showing all of his skills. Not the kind of player to be present at every moment during a game, he was a very prolific goal scorer. Though he was not fast by Serie A standard,[12] he was smart at the moment of getting unmarked and losing his defender, and had an incredible feeling for being at the right spot on the right moment. During the 1951–52 Serie A season, Hansen scored 30 goals, earning him the "Capocannoniere" Italian top goal-scorer title, as he won his second Serie A championship with Juventus. He was called Il calciatore danese.

Interesting Dane.

I only had time time to watch some of the Lazio - Sassuolo match. I found it funny how many times the camera would pan back to the Brut assassin. When Francesco Acerbi walks down the street, Chuck Norris steps aside for him.

We continue our series of Danish football players in Italy. Today we feature Preben Elkjær

Preben Elkjær played with Hellas Verona, helping the club to the only major title of its history, the 1985 Serie A Scudetto. In Verona he is still remembered fondly, having earned the persisting nickname "Il sindaco" (the mayor) during his stint for the club. To this day, at least a few hundred voters in the city continue to write his name on their ballots at the mayoral elections.

When he played for Cologne, the coach Weisweiler is said to have asked him: “I have been informed that you spent the night in a nightclub with a bottle of whiskey and a lady.“ Elkjær 's answer was shocking: “This is a lie, in fact it was a bottle of vodka and two ladies!“

His famous barefoot goal against Juventus:

Didn't know Kessie was from i bergamaschi, I wouldn't of let him go. But they do weird exchanges, Juve let go of Spinazola. Tommorow il classico Inter against Milan but its for the coppa italia, should still be a good game. I think milan won last time.

Ibrahimovic showed himself to be an idiot. Picking a fight with lukaku and being sent of for another yellow.

Milan was poised to win, now Inter has a good chance.

Fuck Ibra, he's an idiot alright. He went and picked a fight with Lukaku that wasn't his. Called him a monkey or something like it. Lukaku overreacted with the foul of Romagnoli , but it should have been left at that. But no..Ibra had to put his big mouth in. I was so happy when he got the red card !! Milan was very dirty and they were all over Barella in a bad way. Rebic should of got a red card over Barella. Barella is great , he's all over the place. Good game overall, Inter dominated. Your buddy Eriksen was allowed in to play for a bit and did a good job taking over Brosovich . And look at that Eriksen scored a beauty.
