Introducing politics in sports is all Colin Kaepernick's fault.
Did you ever hear of Jesse Owens?Introducing politics in sports is all Colin Kaepernick's fault.
You are, obviously, much much older than me. So, are you now saying it's ok for us to talk politics in the Sports Forum?Did you ever hear of Jesse Owens?
Did you ever hear of the raised fists at the '68 Olympics in Mexico?
Did you ever hear of '72 Olympics in Munich?
Did you ever hear of the U.S. boycott in '80?
Those political statements all dwarfed CK.
You seem to be sadly uninformed in this matter.
Only when the stars are right. You are an acolyte of the Great Old Ones then?
?
I'm curious where your information came from.
Last year, The Economist listed Seattle the 4th most livable city in the United States, based on 5 broad factors: culture and environment, infrastructure, health care and education. Also on "stability" (2019) which shows the protests are of recent onset and likely related to having a white supremacist and extremely weak leadership in the White House the last 3 1/2 years, a situation soon to be resolved.

Every major centre has tent cities. They're in specific areas and police correctly try to not create a larger problem by moving them.
I like it ?? it’s certainly unique but also pretty bad a$$ . Anyone agree? The "Seattle Kraken" will be the name of new NHL Franchise.
A "Kraken" is a huge mythical octupus like sea creature.
I totally agree.I like it ?? it’s certainly unique but also pretty bad a$$ . Anyone agree?
Yep, that's the year I left Seattle. They've gone off the deep end.
Yes, that about sums it up. When I was last in Seattle was a bit over 20 years ago.For the most part a friend who lived there for a bit told me. He said there's even a documentary about Seattle and they show before and after pics from like 20 years ago and it's insane.
If you’re really mystified or bothered by this I would suggest that you NOT open the new post on lacrosse. How the Seattle Krakken thread became political. SMH.
It started in post #7.How the Seattle Krakken thread became political. SMH.
Seattle is protest city. Birthplace of the G8 protests. Protesting is their passion.
That some people may be offended by a team name (the thread topic) is not politicalThe word "offend" first appeared in post 6. Post 7 was merely in response to post 6.
You're beating a dead horse. The fact is I and a few other intelligent and rational Board members had a discussion about the quality of life (or lack thereof) in Seattle (home of Krakens). That some people may be offended by a team name (the thread topic) is not political
Talking about a city protesting G8 and was the beginning of the political talk and had ZERO to do with the naming of a team. Tell us what G8 has to do with Kraken.
I don't give a thumbs up to all of shack's posts. You're beating a dead horse. The fact is I and a few other intelligent and rational Board members had a discussion about the quality of life (or lack thereof) in Seattle (home of Krakens).
This thread, like other threads, go where members want it to go. So, there were 4-5 of us interested in discussing Seattle's quality of life and the constant unrest of protests/demonstrations.
Question: Why does George always give a thumbs up to all your posts?
