So true. I know couple of people who always talk as if they are writing the constitution but when you get to know them, there's nothing arrogant about them. They don't know how to speak in any other way.

About a year ago, I read an article about the 10 most useless phrases in an office setting. "It is what it is", "moving forward" were on there, can't remember all of them. But my office at the time used 8 of them. It became quite the joke around the office.

I get slammed for excess verbosity on occasion. However by only one person whose ignorance of general information is epic. I mean really, Mussolini, doesn't ring a bell for you? So I don't feel to bad. However profanity is the last refuge of the inarticulate mother fucker I always believe.
I did know a guy who took the pedantic speech to a whole new level. It was not a autistic thing, it was him trying to hard to sound cultured and failing badly. I would often poke fun at him by translating what he said into normal human speech. I mean really, who the fuck says "I believe X wishes to egress from this locale" instead of "I think X wants to go"
