Rob Ford is an outright bigot. There's no other explanation for his inane statements, like Toronto should be a refugee free zone, is being taken over by orientals, etc.

Violent marital dispute dismissed--yes, he should not be sent to prison unless his guilt can be proved beyond a reasonable doubt. However we should perhaps hold him to a higher standard before electing him to the Mayor's office. We can't afford to take the chance.

Just refuse breathalyzer? Well first that's still a crime. Second the truth has come out--you've missed the latest news, he was lying about it it only being a refuse breathalyzer. Lying.

As for the hockey game, yeah ltos of people become rowdy at a hockey game--how many go on to lie about doing it? Do we want a liar in the mayor's office? What else is he willing to lie about? He is demonstrated now REPEATEDLY that he is the sort of man who would rather lie and cover up his mistakes than bring them out into the open and deal with them honestly. Real life mayors face problems, things do not always go as planned, we need someone who will be forthright about that and not lie and cover up the problems.

I've not had this much "bad luck" in my life and neither have you. He's a three time loser who has repeatedly lied about his actions. I'm getting tired of hearing all of his excuses and while they might suffice to keep him out of prison they do not suffice in demonstrating that he has the sort of character we should demand from our mayor.

Regarding the charges that occurred in Florida, I don't have a problem with him having a bit of marijuana. Not a big deal. Refusing the breathalyzer, that's different. That indicates to me that he knew at the time that he may have or would have failed the breathalyzer test. Therefore he was knowingly driving somewhat or substantially impaired. That indicates to me a serious lack of judgement. He put his convenience ahead of the lives of himself, his passengers and others on the road.

The only thing worse than having Ford for mayor would be having as our leader an incompetent, boorish coke fiend that improbably used to be our deputy premier a.k.a George (I talk with an annoying lisp) Smitherman. If Sarah Thompson had a shot, I'd dearly love to see her elected but that's not meant to be, unfortunately. I like her positions on toll roads and raising the aesthetic standards of the architecture in the city. Plus, she looks a whole lot better than the other mugs running for office. I'd far rather be gazing at her in the papers over the next four years than Ford or that other shifty cocksucker.

Rob Ford is cashing in on the population's distrust with the current "gang of thieves" that run the place. This growing disgust really gained momentum with the garbage strike and TTC issues last year.

Yes Ford does seems like a bit of a bufoon but honestly how many of us have never smoked a joint ? Or driven over .08 at least once or twice? Or yelled at someone ? Might be good for the city if he could clean house for a year before blowing up and resigning over some trailer-trash issue or another.

How can he reduce taxes if he wants cops to patrol our schools? Does he know what that will cost?

Why is he against cycling? It can save money on building new infrastructure and on health costs if it was encouraged.

He supported the billion dollars to police the G-20, even felt they should have cracked more heads. Yet he's a violent angry man, suppose the police cuffed him after each of his outbursts? Would he like that?

We won't see costs go down with him, he's penny wise but pound foolish.

The quote that is floating around is not that bicycling is bad or that he is against bicycling per se., He said that a lot of the accidents that involve cars and bikes are the cyclists fault. What he is against is building bicycle lanes in places that restrict traffic with no other purpose than restricting traffic ( Jarvis&University)

The person is innocent and the wife made a false and inconsistent statement to the police. The Rob Ford's wife has some sort of mental illness or mental breakdown and Ford was the victim here! If Ford was guilty he would have been arrest and put on trial for being a wife beater. It did not even go to court.... last I heard from the newspaper that they reported Ford's wife have some sort of mental illness or mental meltdown. Ford did not abandon his wife
and he still with her and support his children. So please stop twisting the facts.... spinning it.

Actually he is popular because he says what he means, he has found a platform to run on that is resonating with a lot of people. All the mud that is flying around, thrown by other candidates is not sticking. The people who are answering the pols, ( even some ofthe most slanted excuses for "neutral polling") have found something that they like about him, that is unmistakable.

The fact is that the other candiidates have produced nothing in the way of a platform that has attracted any interest, and that is the bottom line, if the other candidates are such better choices than Rob Ford why have none of them produced anything that is worth the time to read? I have seen nothing that has been repeated more than once in the media.

George Smitherman the other concensus choice has not produced a thing besides a guy in a chicken suit and a truley impressive amount of whining about how Rob Ford is bad for the city, how he has concerns about Fords ability to tell the truth and any other CRITISISM that he can lay his hands one.

Would it not be a better plan to get HIS PLATFORM out in fromt of the people who are going to be voting ? Give all those people something to talk about besides Rob Ford ? He has not done so and i think the voters are tuning him out, He has a load of bagage from his Deputy Premier and Cabinet Minister days most people are associating him with e-health ( not unreasonably) and I think have sort of shuffled him off to the side.

The other candidates realistically had no chance without a massive meltdown of one of the two front runners..... the heat is on and Ford is not melting and neither is his support, the fact that Smitherman can not make any gains after all of this is really telling.

When you have to keep paying taxes example garbage bag tax, landtransfer tax, increases in TTC tokens,etc. Soon probably toll tax on road. The 5 cent per grocery bag, TV or computer monitor taxes, etc.... Taxpayer starting to get fucking mad... you work and 50% of your salary goes to gov't in some form of taxes.

The only part of his platform that resonates with me is that he might actually break the unions. I think a lot of people are pissed off about that TTC strike and other such incidents. I'm willing to be that's where he draws the majority of his support and that after that people are generally holding their collective noses.

I disagree that he says what he means: He has been caught lying repeatedly--three times now on separate issues--so I'm not sure why you would believe that.
