Like Prince, this was a shocker for me. Loved him since I was a little girl. RIP George Michael. Such a gorgeous voice:

I'm going to catch flak for this but it's true. Was he estranged from his parents? Greeks are intolerant to homosexuality.

Can't say I care for his music, it was catchy but he wasn't claiming any new territory. He wasn't a revolutionary like Bowie and he didn't blend rock and soul the way Prince did. However he gave more of his fortune to charity than most people of affluence. He generosity was legendary.

I don't know about his father, but he was extremely close with his mother. When she died, he was devastated.

He was incredibly talented and had a very powerful voice. Although I was never a huge fan, I recognize his talent and I'm shocked he's gone. He was huge in my youth.

What does a diabetic look like? What are the visual characteristics?
Being overweight or obese increases the risk for developing type 2 diabetes, which in turn increases risk of heart disease.

Which is why some people need a personal trainer to keep them in shape. Sound familiar??

His music wasn't my cup of tea but by no means did I have any disdain for it or him.

Freddie Mercury was a huge influence on him and he developed his voice to achieve the same depth and richness FM had. Brian May and Roger Taylor even invited him to join Queen upon Freddie's passing.

Way too young to go at 53. His fans were still looking forward to more music from him.

The media is now reporting that his boyfriend Fadi found him dead at home. They had planned to spend Christmas together, only when he went there, he found George dead in bed. Also the boyfriend has stated that George had a heroin addiction and has implied that that's what really killed him.

Who knows.

Sad he's gone.

In the end what difference does it make?? Life is a kamikaze suicide mission when you think about it.
Some people choose the slow way, some the fast way.

Whether you eat yourself to death, whether you do drugs, whether you smoke cigs, whether you live in a smog-filled city, whether you drive without a seat-belt, it all adds up to the same thing eventually

Well yeah, but to me there is a big difference cashing in at 53 vs cashing in at 93.

I dunno about you, but I figure that as long as I have all my marbles, I'd pick 93 over 53. Ergo, don't do stupid shit (like smoke, do drugs, or drive without a seatbelt etc.)

Here in lies the question, would you rather have glamour-filled life, fucking all kinds of pussy, making lots of $$$, and die at age 53. Or would you rather work as a mechanic, making $25/hr, live a boring life, and die at age 75??

I know which one I'd rather have

So everybody who is overweight "looks diabetic". There are many, many overweight people who are not diabetic. BTW, there are also lots of thin diabetics. How do you fit that into your theory?

It was a silly comment and trying to (poorly) defend it just compounds it.

Very true

The "perhaps" means nothing in terms of the validity of the comment that "he looks diabetic".

There is no "look" to diabetes. Do you comprehend that?

No, explain it further
OK. Try this.

You said that "he looks diabetic, perhaps".

Now we have both agreed that many people that are overweight are not diabetic and many thin people can be diabetic. So observing a person's weight is not indicative of whether or not that person is diabetic.

As such, what other visibly observable characteristics does one need to "look diabetic", perhaps or otherwise. Aside from GM looking overweight in that pic, what else did you see to validate "he looks diabetic, perhaps".

Oh, I dont know. Maybe the fact he was addicted heroin?? Opiates can have that effect.

You're starting to sound frustrated, shackie :D

Ok. You got me.

Explain how being addicted to heroin makes one look diabetic especially when there is no particular look that diabetics have.

Did you save any egg nog? It must have been a good batch.
