Fun fact I read on Wikipedia.
Sutherland was offered 40 grand up front to star in Animal House or 2 percent of the gross.
He picked the 40k up front because he thought the movie would go nowhere.
It ended up grossing 141 million dollars.

Classic Donald. A lot of these guys were too old to be in this movie having served in the real WW2.Lee Marvin. US Marines. Wounded in action. Robert Ryan. US armed forces boxing champion. Don't know what weight division. Light heavyweight I think. True hard asses.
No matter how hard ass you may be, there's always someone that you shouldn't fuck with. That happened to Lee Marvin on the set of The Professionals, he nearly got thrown off a cliff by Burt Lancaster. Himself a WW II veteran in Italy. Marvin, kept needling him about his struggles to remember lines, Lancaster though better of killing him and tossed him aside like a ragdoll...message sent.
Harrison Ford worked his chops from watching other actors, he may have developed Indiana Jones from Donald Sutherland. I watched Invasion of the Body Snatchers again, what ever happened to Brooke Adams?
