Holly snappin arseholes Batman, Star Wars took a beating at the box - office, beaten by both Jumanji and the latest Insidious installment.
Disney expected The Last Jedi to dominate the January box-office, holding the No. 1 t least until MLK Day. So much for that - and the film is bombing in the PRC. Not that Disney are worried, they've almost paid back the $4.06 billion the company paid to Lucas Film. The film needed to make $430 million on the domestic box office to break even on production and marketing costs, it's already surpassed that. In overseas markets, the profit share is much smaller. Disney was expected a $400 million profit margin from their corporate monster, they may not get it. But they got enough lemmings to fork out on their fascist fantasy so all is good.
Did Star Wars just smell what The Rock is cookin?
