Me too! It was one hell of a run. Best basketball season Raptor fans have seen in years, maybe ever. The pieces are in place need to add a little and hope we don't lose anyone important. Bring a couple of pieces in to tweak this team and next year should be exciting too. These guys with a years experience together should be fun watch and tough to beat. As Carling says "this is just the beginning of something special".

could this be a piece that could get us to the next round?.. maybe, folks.....maybe

Again I say ... All it would have taken was a Damian Lillard moment ( and it has been awhile for Blazers also and this was also his first playoff ) ... Why can't T.O have a moment like that .... Instead T.O fans get moments like this

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3emK-oy0LyQ

It is like this city is jinxed ... I respect who the Nets are but the stage was set ( with Ross's steal ) and all that was needed was one of those moments ..
i know... hell we all want one of those moments!.... but , it just wasn't in the tea leaves...btw Portland has a very rich and successful NBA history... and were in the playoffs a few years ago.. yes, Lillard is in his first playoffs, but Aldridge has been there for a long time.. and he is one of their veteran stars... he's dissapointed many Blazers fans with his playoff performances, and this was his breakout type of season.... the Raps need the experience , and it showed we were lacking it, especially after game 5.. I trust Masai will bring in some help, and maybe make a deal here and there... but the main thing he must do , is SIGN KYLE LOWRY !!!

I'm not a fan of bringing guys back especially guys that have quit on you! I agree they need a veteran presence. I believe they need another big body to play behind Jonas. Ross has not convinced me he is a "guy" but I did see enough growth that I sure wouldn't write him off. He may just need a body that will push him. Either or both of them could be your veterans and VC fits.

Um, this was a pretty good moment, no?

How about this one?

Lillard's moment was great, but it was just first round. They're losing to the Spurs next round.

There is no way they were ever gonna get the calls. Putting themselves down 26 in game 6 and 11 with 3 minutes to go in game 7 put then in a terrible situation. One they almost dig themselves out of... Even with terrible calls from the refs. Was still a successful year given where they were a month into the season.

Bring in a established power forward, get rid of Landry somehow, resign Lowry. Hope Jonas puts on a few more pounds and starts racking up a few more double doubles they should be pretty good next year.

They def need a bit more consistancy. Fighting back in 4th quarters all the time may build character... But isn't the best recipe

dude you need to relax and chill on Toronto.. you obviously are a hater..and no matter what toronto does in the sports scene, you will hate it...
Dude, I'm not a hater. If I said something that wasn't true please point it out. Otherwise, call me realistic...not a hater.

Toronto teams need a bit of humility. Not the players & coaches, but pretty much everyone one else above them. Toronto is so desperate for a championship (aside from CFL) that even the smallest of accomplishments garners tremendous attention.

Even when Toronto teams make it to the playoffs, people are satisfied with only that achievement. In the Raptors case, let's face it, how far could they go with Miami? Maybe steal a game? Maybe 2 tops?

I think Toronto teams curse themselves by:
- Raptors...telling the first team you are facing after a 6 year drought to "Fuck Brooklyn".....before the 1st game was played. "We The North"...catchy...but I guess Brooklyn is probably the northern-most team still playing now...so "They The North".
- Blue Jays last year after the big player acquisitions were claiming to have the World Series won before the season even started.
- Leafs...well don't even get me started here.

How about getting some regular playoff runs and progressing each year closer & closer to the big championship before boasting about something?
A bit of humility will go a long way with these teams.
You are not a hater, unlike that loser that slurred you...
You just haven't been brainwashed by Rogers and wee, little Drake... and can still be objective.

Toronto has had 10 years of mostly horrific management...
Ferguson, Colangelo, AA, etc...
And the teams break every rule for building a Champion...
Instead rolling out endless bloviating Ad Campaigns for 0.400 teams.

Jays - Until they fire AA and rebuild their Farm System it's hopeless.
Raptors - Until they have 2 Superstars and an elite coach it's hopeless (JV is not a candidate).
Leafs - I don't care enough to comment.

But Ad Campaigns and Star Fuckers at courtside seem to satisfy passive Canadians...
Unlike, say, New York fans that don't take any shit... and are not "good losers".

It just seems backwards to me. Create hype, ad campaigns, get fans to buy "Fuck Brooklyn" t-shirts. raise ticket prices...pretty much everything you would expect that a successful on-court or on-ice franchise would do AFTER some consistency and success.
It's almost like there is no urgency to focus on management and good decisions because how many more fans will they get? How many more tickets will they sell?
Granted playoffs bring in extra revenue, but in Toronto's case, that's just gravy. There are no money issues so banking on the playoffs is not the goal.

I have said it for years...it's time for fans to show some tough-love. Time for them to say we've had enough of showering you with loyalty...now it's time to get something back. Don't support the teams until there are clear signs of improvement and a sense of urgency to build winning teams.
Until then, I really don't see any improvements or championships coming to these teams.

I like the system some of the pro soccer leagues around the world use...if you under-perform in the standings, you will move down to the B-league until you work your way back up. How's that for incentive?

lol... yes, its been ten years since any success, but why when we have a team that finally does well do we have "haters" who keep looking at the negatives? Fire AA , rebuild?... that's hater talk... How did Popovich, or Doc River become elite coaches?... by losing , by learning and coming back smarter and wiser... and thank you for your fortune telling on the future of JV...

exactly! .. i can see a bright future for the raptors...not this gloom and doom , "i;m a realist" shit...
Holee Crap all is not gloom and doom! Nice to see a couple of positive posts!

Casey was a well deserved signing, now secure Lowery and find some veteran presence to go with the draft and the Raps should be solid in the future!
