I don't want to read a few books and I don't care what you say guys. I trust my eyes and the facts. I growing up in Russia and I live here just a few years ago. When I come here I don't have anything and I didn't speak english. I'm worked 80-90 hours a week for 8 dollars/hour in the first 2-3 years. I lived in the black area ( Jane-Finch) and I was assaulted two times because I'm a white boy. But never happened if I met a single black guys.If they were there 4 or more they were very brave . I've regularly played basketball on courts in the hood and haven't had a problem. I've eaten at late night Jamaican places without incident. Dino, Dino, Dino - What can I say. First of all Russia did have their own racial problems. There were a number of black students from Africa who were physically assaulted very badly in places like Moscow just because they were black. There were a few murders of these blacks students as well. The Russian skin-heads are very notorious for their brand of racial violence. So that makes me wonder why this tirade by you against the blacks here in Toronto. If you stumble into the wrong place at the wrong time then whether you are white or black makes no difference - all you can say is thank your lucky stars that you are alive. Your other point about blacks in the welfare office. Have you not wondered that some of them may have degrees in medicine or civil engineering etc., but the fact that they are black is the reason why they are not in the work-force. I personally know many brilliant blacks that are general labourers, but they are in a catch 22 situation,as they do not have "Canadian experience" they are not employable in their profession. Sad but this is a fact. For people from England they would know the term "closed shop" with reference to the medical profession. i.e. they have to qualify from a Canadian recognised medical school to work in the medical profession here. I can't believe that I'm agreeing with MLAM on this post. I've visited friends in the Jane/Finch area and never had a problem. I tend to treat people the way I want to be treated. Sounds like Dino had a bad experience with a person of colour and now paints the whole group with the same brush.
I wonder how many Russians disappear from the worksite after welfare day? I'm guessing that dino is cranky from as vodka hangover. We all know how those Russkies are alcoholics.
