Not really. Before the 1967 expansion there had been a total of five 50 goal seasons: Rocket Richard in 44-45, Bernie Geoffrion in 60-61 and Bobby Hull 3 times (61-62, 65-66 and 66-67.)
Since expansion there have been 191 50 goal seasons, although there have been fewer over the last 20 seasons. It was the 70's, 80's and 90's when scoring really went crazy.
Trusting that your numbers are accurate (no reason to believe they're not)....
Since expansion from the
Original Six, there have been 53 seasons played (if my numbers are correct), but we'll say 51, since there was a strike shortened season, and a Covid-19 shortened season.
There have been 1255 Team Years of NHL hockey played (I included the shortened seasons in this total).
The skaters roster (not including goaltenders) has been stable at 18 during all this time, unless I missed something.
1255 x 18 skaters = 22,590 skaters who have had an opportunity to score 50 or more goals in a season.
The mark has been hit 191 times.
By how many players?
93.
19 players account for 99 of those 191 seasons.
191 total 50 goal seasons / 93 players out of 22,590 possible players, that number is .00846
Regularly?
No.
