So basically Ontario is only province still living in dark ages...
Its hilarious anyone thinks these restrictions mean anything when people from other provinces can freely cross the borders not to mention air traffic and even relaxed US borders

Everything is re-opening in Quebec for those who are bored here and want a getaway
Water Parks, Casinos, Amusement Parks (La Ronde etc) all good to go
Bars, clubs, movie theatres and all the other indoor stuff

Only thing not open (yet) are large scale festivals but wait a couple more weeks and I bet they open up

I guess what's happening in Florida, Texas and other red states is a great thing. Let the numbers soar. Funny how Quebec doesn't want to report daily numbers as they go into phase 3.

Am I missing something? US borders closure extended until July 21 is last I heard.

Health minister received a lot of flak for that.
Monday Quebec will be back to reporting daily numbers.
Right now Quebec is doing quite well all things considered under a 100 new cases and under 10 deaths daily most days.
Hope this keeps up as I plan on seeing my ATF soon.

I welcome the re-opening. I'm just responsible for how I conduct myself unlike the selfish open now at all cost crowd. The same crowd that is also selfish and refuse to wear masks in public indoor crowed spaces.

Anyone with a little common sense would know if the numbers remain low the restrictions will not be brought back as they are starting to do in Florida and will eventually be forced to completely lock down again.

no the on;y people that need to be quarantines are the elderly and the vulnerable NOT healthy people who cannot afford to be in lockdowns with no income and now where to go when they are facing child and domestic abuse

You honestly think the rich can’t afford the lockdowns.
It is the poor that need to work in order to survive and put food on the table.
The rich will just diversify their holdings into, Walmart, Amazon and companies that make money even during the lockdown.
I guess you never heard of the phrase the rich get richer.
No need to worry about the rich.

I get why they are going back to daily, but moving to weekly wasn't crazy. Week-long distributions will be more stable than daily ones. (It's why we do the rolling averages to smooth out the data.) People freaked out, though, so the right move was to return to daily reporting.

I'm a little worried about LeGault pushing to stage 3 so fast, but they are keeping heavy restrictions in place on how businesses function indoors and the numbers are decent so we aren't pulling a Florida or Arizona or anything.

CM would be happier if Justin and Doug played the pandemic off like Trumpfart. The European Union is planning to bar American travel. The US will be in their own little Trumpfart bubble thanks to having an open up policy without enforcing the proper guidelines.

Yeah reporting weekly to me would not have been so bad as most days the reporting was weird they would say 19deaths but 10 of those happened 7 days ago.

I think they are being careful in reopening though, I just went for a haircut, had to wait in the car until the last person left.
There were only 3 clients and three hairdressers in a large salon and we were spaced out double the requirement.
Everybody had masks on and all equipment, chairs everything was thoroughly wiped, cleaned, after a customer left.
Most people are wearing masks while shopping and a lot of stores are handing them out if you don’t have one.

Unfortunately I do see young people in the parks in groups not seeming to care and without masks or any kind of distancing.
I have seen and had family over, so far always out in the backyard where it was easy to maintain distancing.
So far so good hope it stays that way.
Montreal agencies are back in business and so are quite a few indys.

Hopefully people will respect the precautions and not see flaunting them as a sign of virility like in many states.

Full closure is over
You can cross for a ton of reasons now (students on visas, people who are married to a US/Can citizen, dual citizens etc)

Probably started with Phase 2 here but the bs in news about closures is just that
(I know a person who crossed over to visit from Baltimore region; yes it takes longer but its not impossible)

And thats not even getting into the scammy crossings (more a BC and east ON / PQ problem but again they move around as was evidenced by the outrage at US vacationers in AB last week)
