The best line about Prince I heard from comedian Richard Belzer back in the 1980's: He said something about "the difference between Michael Jackson and Prince: Michael Jackson is a black man who doesn't know what to do with all the women who want to fuck him. Prince is a black man who DOES know what to do with all the women who want to fuck him." A very talented man. RIP.
As you know, he had a house and a GF here before. Wonder if he knew, and whether he came out to do that surprise concert as one last show here?Wow. Too bad i missed the chance to see him when he came to Toronto a few months ago.
I believe the original version's solo was played by Eric Clapton (I read somewhere that Harrison didn't feel he could do it, but that Clapton said he could).
Prince was certainly a talented guitarist, songwriter and showman. He listened to and was influenced to a broad spectrum of music, including Tower of Power (on their anthology album, the liner notes include tributes from various artists. Prince says he lost his virginity in the back seat of a car listening to TOP's "You're Still A Young Man").
Vanity was Canadian, I believe and she died like last year.
What? Her too? Drugs? Disease?
(Someone tells me that Vanity was a performer but that his GF from Toronto, was nobody famous).
