Prince has died at 57

She only died a couple months ago, all the drugs took a toll on her body. She had turned her life around, and was a minister in California.

2016 really has been a shitty year...RIP Prince...one of my favourite musicians.
I was fortunate to attend his March 25 "Prince with a Piano" show, one of the best Prince performances, and I have seen all of his Toronto shows. He surprised me by being so good on the piano, but I shouldn't have been since his father was a pianist.
He was born with epilepsy, that may have had something to do with it.RIP Prince. I thought this was another hoax, but unfortunately it's real. I heard it was a flu, he just couldn't shake, how sad.
This is extremely sad news. I've seen him several times over the years, most recently last year at the Sony Centre with an all female band. He was one of my all-time favourite musicians/performer. The world has lost a musical genius, and icon! RIP Prince Rogers Nelson. You will be sadly missed!
Reallly, that explains a lot. Epilepsy can be controlled with drugs. But those drugs degrade the liver and the immune system over time. I'm assuming he didn't drink or he would have been gone much sooner.
Prince is also responsible for one of the best lyric lines: "Act your age, not your shoe size".
Like Bowie before him, I find this hard to take. And like Bowie before him I'm pouring myself a generous shot of 16 year old Lagavulin to help me cope.

Despite not having good enough musical knowledge to fully appreciate all of his music, I have been to three of his concerts and was simply amazed by his talent and respected him as a true artist.
Gone relatively early but he sure got a lot of living in the life he had!

He probably has enough music recorded and stashed in his vault to put out a hundred more albums, if not more. It will be interesting hear what's in there.
That is astounding when you think of it. Even just the body of work he did produce speaks to the work ethic of him, and other artists. Relentless.
