You are for the most part a reasonable person. Trumps charges were totally justified while hunters were a ridiculous overreach. Most red states don't even have a penalty for lying on gun applications. The Donald himself appluad tax cheats and pardoned fellow fraud kushner. If Joe didn't pardon hunter that would be a travesty. He is one of the first people charged for soley said crimes while many people have been charged with donnies many crimes
I will grant you the gun charges are typically not prosecuted as felonies. However, you probably should read more about the specificities of what Hunter was actually doing in regards to tax evasion. Leimonis not exactly a Trumper pointed out the similarity with Manafort's tax charges. This wasn't just about not filing on time or not paying his taxes.

I think it's a common misconception that if you cheat on your taxes and are caught, you simply pay your taxes plus a fine and everyone moves on. There are plenty of public examples of egregious tax evasion that lead to charges and sometimes prison. I'm not convinced Hunter Biden was unfairly targeted for political purposes. If anything, as a prominent politician's son he was initially given extended leniency that was attacked by Republicans.

The problem in the U.S. (as is probably the case in Canada as well) is selective prosecution. We have all become jaded and expect certain members of society to be granted certain privileges under the law.

Hunter eventually paid his taxes tho Donnie never did. Hie do you justify Trump being a tax cheat paying $750 in income tax and bring convicted of 34 felonies yet you think somehow Hunter is worse when he paid his dues albeit late ?

First, I don't think the felonies will be upheld or will they lead to anything more than a fine and probably probation. Lastly, I'm not versed as well as you on Trump's taxes.

I'm fine with the Hunter pardon, but you seem to want some type of absolution. I think some of you are wrestling with this idea that the President's son could have committed a crime. Thus, you are always intent on re-litigating the Trump cases over and over again here.

The election is over. Trying to reintroduce Trump's legal cases at this point is a bit like necrophilia. The cases are dead.

Accusation and being found guilty of sexual assault civilly which the Judge says it is correct to say it was rape isn't the same thing. I am far from a bleeding heart but I am a realist and any father in Joe's position, especially after losing one son would do exactly the same thing. Also Trump was found guilty of all 34 criminal counts of falsifying business records. Facts matter!
I see you have removed the words felon and rapist, which conveniently now makes you a truth saying? I never said he wasn't found guilty by a jury, just you used inflammatory inaccurate terminology, for effect I assume. And I am not surprised Joe pardoned Hunter, but that doesn't make it right. Btw, not even sure what you are trying to say in your first sentence, but no it is not correct to use the term rape, and don't believe the judge said it was. But I guess facts on matter when convenient to you, you like to use provocative language, even when it is blatantly inaccurate.

Trump wasn't accused of tax fraud, just that he paid a small amount of tax, but legitimately. Business owners have many tax incentives that reduce taxes as a way to get reinvestment that will help the economy. There obviously are good tax accountants that can maximum these deductions, but so long as within the tax system, not sure why it bothers people about an individual, you should complain about the tax system. But with the amount of TDS around, people look for things to get angry at Trump.

And this is where normally the IRS would audit the company and they would review the business deductions and the IRS would determine whether the deductions are bona fide or not. Pretty standard shit, and IRS would rule, and the business can dispute. It would not typically get to a criminal manner, unless of course you were targeting someone. Of all the cases, the NY fraud case was without real merit. You could argue the Jan 6 and the classified documents had merit, and it would be a good discussion, the NY fraud was and is a joke. It will eventually get overturned, so at that point, you won't even be able to try and say tax fraud. And may get dismissed soon, although Merchan is standing pretty steadfast so far. The overturn will happen at the appeals level at some time.

I'm pretty sure those bogus felony charges are as good as trash now.....
They weren't bogus and neither were the Georgia election fraud phone call charges or the stolen top secret documents in the Mara Lago bathroom, or the inciting of the riots on Jan 6 to support his attempt at blocking the peaceful transfer of power after lying about the dems trying to steal the election. All serious threats to democracy yet he was allowed to run and have his charges dropped. Meanwhile Hunter paid back his tax debts and has been clean and sober for 6 years so let's crucify him for being Joe's son!

Are they stealing luggage at the airports or wearing cooky outfits and trying to go to the wrong bathrooms? Btw, you're deflecting, maybe address the comment itself, it wasn't like Hunter was the only person charged with these offenses, unlike several they are trying to do with Trump. (NY and Florida cases). Biden stole documents, but they felt sympathic for him, too old and senile to be charged..lol
Biden immediately co-operated. Trump lied and tried to hide them.

Immediately? You do know he discussed the classified documents with his ghostwriter long before he returned the documents. So not immediately when he became aware, only after he was caught. And unlike the president that has extraordinary authority, Biden never had such authority to possess those documents.

So what's that come to ? One lie for every 100 lies told by Trump?
How about the one that he isn't senile? With all of the cover up lies for this that had to be told? That no military were killed under his Presidency? How about the one about a public option for health insurance?
You want me to continue? It could take awhile.

Biden may not tell as many, but the ones he does tend to kill people and affect millions more negatively.

Reading and being informed is your best defense to not looking silly, just saying. To confirm, you support a rapist and a felon.

Just stop with the lies..This is how you lose elections.

He was never convicted of the felony of rape.

There was no witnesses and no physical evidence...None!

Her whole recounting is right from a Law& Order episode.

Outside of a picture of her with her husband with Trump at a social event there is no evidence that he even knew her.

The article really loses all. credibility mentioning George Conway . Noting he's lawyer and husband to former Trump aide Kellyanne Conway. Selectively forgetting he's a founder of the Lincoln Project and personally funded Carroll's legal team.

He was never convicted of the felony of rape.
He was found liable in civil court for sexual abuse and defamation.
Sexual abuse of a person is rape. The jury agreed to that and found it to be so.
He was found liable because he committed the act.
There was no criminal trial because the statute of limitations had expired.
Bottomline is it is correct to call Trump a rapist.
