I was responding to danmand who said police don't need guns. They definitely did need guns when attacked by a maniac with a knife who had already stabbed 4 people killing one.

Maybe next time they will send in the unarmed crisis support team.
Be like the U.K. cops...most don’t carry guns.

Just another loose cannon on the job who has to toss around a scrawny kid to feel like a big man, would get along great with that other idiot Forcillo. I bet he gets suspended & rightfully so but he has probably the strongest union in the land backing him so it will just end up being a mark on his record & back to work after a slap on the wrist.
When your young sometime you do stupid things, most cops know how to deal with that. I got arrested up north one summer when I was in my late teens for public intoxication & well being young, dumb, full of testosterone & ripped this cop wasn't able to get the cuffs on me & failed every attempt of trying to get me to the ground. When back up arrived I learned the valuable lesson of not resisting arrest! My dad came & picked me up the next morning & was absolutely furious to see the black eye & cuts & bruises on my arms, chest & face. Being a small town not too far from our cottage my dad made some calls & the staff sergeant came in & showed him the arresting officers & backup officers notes of what a defiant young punk I was & then my dad had zero sympathy for me.

Are you on purpose being dishonest?

Here is what I posted: " we are not safer or being served because this police officer walks around with a hand gun and a taser."

I could see it as fairly reasonable to use force to pin him if the suspect had already injured people and was an imminent threat to the public but not if his crime was walking away after getting a ticket and mouthing off to the cop.
I suspect he was fleeing in some way
You can clearly see in video the cop car is angled to side of road (forcing skater into snow bank) after the intersection

As well witness said cop car was blocking road for "20+ minutes" BEFORE he started filming the abuse

My point is what if this police officer (and/or other innocents) is attacked by a knife wielding man and he (the officer) is not armed? I used the Mount Albert incident as an example.

I expected you would try to weasel out of your dishonest post.

Do yourself a favour and apologize for your dishonesty.

@danmand

So do you think the cop is guilty of police brutality?? Simple question, yes or no

I'm sorry if you think I misinterpreted your post and no it wasn't intentional.

I think there are times when our cops do need guns and tasers. On Saturday the cops were attacked by a knife wielding man who had also knifed 4 people, killing one wounding 3.

Not according to witnesses. It seems he was already given a ticket and was walking/skating away when macho cop flipped.
But again credibility

Majority of them were not really watching until after beatdown started (hence the cell phones staying in pockets during argument)

Either way cop def went too far

Here ya go
A source lol

Like many who have committed a road safety violation he received a ticket from a police officer. Then he got back on his skateboard and rode away.
That’s where the story should have ended. Instead, perhaps in response to a rude comment, the police officer got back in his car and “flew down the main street,” said Kelly Platt, a bystander who witnessed the assault, in a Ricochet video interview. “He pulled in front of the boy and slammed on the brakes so the boy would hit the back of the police car.”
