From a purely legal point of view, anyone who takes money from a prostitute is a pimp. So, if an SP has her grandmother living with her and the SP pays the rent etc., then grandma can be charged with living off the avails of prostitution and she is considered a pimp.

On May 5th a hearing in the Ontario Superior Court will begin that challenges the pimping laws here in Ontario. Check out the SPOC website for more info. http://www.spoc.ca/index.html
It should be interesting to see what happens.

Just stating my experience and personal opinion on the matter. Each person has different experiences and will enter this type of situation with different objectives.
I know your view of the agency I work is very different from mine and I'm sure that you have your reasons for this. We all reach our POV through our personal experiences and that's just how I have come to my conclusions. :)
LMAO.

Yeah I'm not a junky either. I swear all these pills the doctor gives me is for my "pain".

Lets hope the courts will understand that safety should come before what the moral police think.

I could never understand just why OutCalls are OK but InCalls are not

Hopefully the courts will straighten the law out

I'm sorry if I've offended you with one of my posts, it wasn't my intention. If we've met then sorry that it didn't work out but in this industry that is bound to happen. Let's keep it professional though okay? :)

There was an article in the sun way back in the day about this very topic. The reason incalls are illegal is along the lines of "not in our neighbourhood". Because the activity is centralized to an incall location (ie: bothering the neighbours) and outcalls are spread out everywhere to different people's homes or hotel rooms. This is negated if somebody is really active and has 10 women coming over every day. lol....I can kind of see the point. I have used this example before but there was an incall down on Bay and the doors were stained a deep mahogany colour. The stain on the incall door was worn right down to bare wood in the middle where one normally knocks. It was VERY obvious as all the other doors were perfect.....

As for the grandma example. I think the police would have to prove that she in fact was getting cash from the sp. What the sp does with the money, and who benefits from it are arguable. For eg: an sp has kids. From the example given the kids could also be charged with living off the avails because mom buys em clothes, food, houses them etc with the proceeds. I don't know for sure but I bet there is some stipulation that requires direct compensation ie: cash. I don't know if rent or food or ?? could be construed or proven to be "living off the avails".....but then again, since when has the law been based on logic?

99.999% of the time when you hear someone got busted for living off the avails it's a pimp.

You are reading too much into my posts. No I have not met you. I wish I did though but I didn't. It wasn't a personal shot. I'm just commenting on pimp vs. agency. It's all semantics.

Ok here's my rant:
Pimp...agent, it's all the same thing. isn't an agent just a fancy name for a pimp? I mean when some dude comes up to me at the sc asking if i want to work for his 'company' and i ask what kinda of company just to see what kinda bullshit line he'll feed me...he tell me he's an agent for an entertainment company. yeah sure whatever dude. But seriously WHY work and then hand over your money to some guy that is basically too much of a low life to actually get a job for himself? I have absolutely no respect for any girl that gets herself involved with someone like that. so imo a pimp and an agent IS the same thing. AND PIMPING IS EASY. how hard can it be to take some stupid girls money?? fin.

Bing-not, you've missed the role of the agent completely. For an independent escort there's this thing called "non-billable hours". That is the time you spend on emails and the phone, chatting up and scheduling clients, time spent at the photo shoot having pictures taken and processed for the web-page, part of the web-site that you spend hours on getting just right.

Creating profiles at a dozen escort directories. It all adds up, you can easily work 5 hours for every 2 spent on the date itself. When you have an agency, you don't bother with any of that. You just get to your appointments and do the work. Sometimes you've had a good week and you start cancelling dates because you get lazy. If you have to show up because you work for an agency, then you will.

Sure there is a natural flow of sp's leaving agencies to become independent, and there's also a flow back the other way. Independents are giving up the hectic life and going back to having it all done for them. Whatever fits them at the time.

Just for arguments sake:
1) Can you design a website and want to maintain it? Or pay someone to do it? Not everyone can
2) Do you man your phones all day everyday? Many don't want to ......
3) Do you arrange your own drivers, pay them, etc? Again, many don't want to....

As for agents you meet in a club, I'm with you on that.....but as for all the ladies working for agencies I guess they feel the added value of paying someone to do all the managerial work for them is worth it.....

Do you think all movie stars and actors want to be bothered knocking on studio exec's doors looking for the next role? Do you think they want to negotiate their next contract?

I see this as no different than hiring an accountant: you can do your own books but not everyone wants to......personally I HATE doing my own accounting but for the time being, I'm stuck with it but the second I can afford one? I'm hiring myself an accountant to deal with all the tax BS of running your own business......

I didn't realize we were using the term agent so loosely. I assumed that we were talking strictly about agents in THIS industry.

1) You don't need an agent to design and maintain a site for you. You can hire someone to do that for you. It doesn't have to be the person that is representing you/finding you business.
2) It's not really that hard to manage your phone calls. thats what cellular phones and voicemail is for.
3) Yes i do manage my own drivers when i go to work at the club. It's not really that difficult to call a driver a few hours in advance and book them for the time you need. And paying them isn't a hard concept either.
IF you can't manage to do the 2nd and 3rd then you really ARE that brain dead and probably do need an 'agent'
I just don't see why you would hand over your money to someone that does practically nothing for you, seeing as most people are fully capable of doing these things for themselves.
Don;t compare these girls to celebs that NEED their own personal assisstants and agents because they aren't even on the same level

Legally that doesn't make sense to me. Something is legal or it isn't. But I am used to the USA laws, not Canada. Somethings are different how the law works.

If certain areas don't want InCalls, then the lawmakers should approve laws that city's can have bylaws for or against InCalls. But then OutCalls should be illegal too-just how I look at it.

The way it is now, the "poor"-guys who can not afford both a hotel room and a escort-are not being treated fair.

PS...I believe thats why the Toronto police are looking the other way most of time with InCalls. They have a gut feeling if they really crack down on InCalls, there be a big uproar and InCalls would be made legal.

As per usual, your post shows how little you know about Toronto and Canada...

"What’s in a name? that which we call a (pimp) by any other name would smell as ... "

Yeah, then whats the right answer ????

All the police need to do is call one of many escort company's up that have InCalls going on everyday.

Terb even has a own area for them.

But InCalls are illegal, just like other stuff Terb will not post about.

Why are Toronto police looking the other way ?

Im going to go out on a limb and say that its because they have more important things to deal with than 2 consenting adults partaking in morally questionable behaviour....like drive by shootings and child abuse. The same reason they turn a blind eye to underage drinking and people who smoke pot.

I agree, you don't see it, and you won't. Other people arguing with you must seem crazy, since once you're finished ignoring all the points they're making, it must seem as if they have no position at all.

But you are doing the right thing, (he says backing away slowly) because you're always right, and we're always wrong ... (turns and runs away as fast as he can!)

Good answer, can see that.

If you think about it, the police should enforce laws most people care about. The people should decide what goes on in their town, not the police.

Thats what a "free country" is, how I see it.
