What a joke, all those PGA Tours guys who turned down LIV offers because they were too good for that, and were taking high roads etc etc etc....Idiots - should've took the money because in the end corporate will do whatever it takes to make money. Now they are all whining because they are upset that PGA let them down. :ROFLMAO: Tiger should have taken that close to a Billion dollar deal offered by LIV.

LIV was doomed to fail. Their product is boring as hell because you cannot buy passion.

Passion is seeing new player's, young or old, making it up with the big player's.

So technically it's not a failure as the PGA will get what they want from it. More money and keep their exposure. While making sure all the best play as often as possible in the same tournament.

Shocking! Phil Mickelson: $200 million; Dustin Johnson, Bryce DeChambeau, Brooks Koepka, $150 million, etc. They get to keep that money and rejoin the tour. No fairness. Wouldnt be surprised the PGA guys who cooked the deal have pocketed several millions themselves

Life lesson #259: Several years ago, one of my colleagues was let go with a large severance payment. Another department in our company then went and hired him. Yup, he got to keep the severance payment. Take the money on the table.

I heard that the escort industry went through something similar. A new startup escort was offering bonuses to attract free agent escorts from other agencies. Where were the bonuses for attracting clients?

Payouts for the Memorial Tournament that just concluded

Winner: Viktor Hovland $3.6M
Runner up: Denny McCarthy $2.18M
3rd place: Scottie Scheffler $1.38M
4th place: Si Woo Kim $980K
5th place: Jordan Speith & Andrew Putnam $773K each

Here were the payouts for the same tournament in 2019:

Winner: Patrick Cantlay $1.64M
Runner up: Adam Scott $983K
3rd place: Martin Kaymer $619K
4th place: Kevin Streelman $437K
5th place: Marc Leishman $364K

That's quite a jump in just 4 years - more than double. There's no doubt LIV forced the PGA to increase payouts.

"Al Rumayyan, the governor of Saudi wealth fund, will be chairman of the new commercial group with PGA tour commissioner Monahan as CEO." The Saudis are the new boss. Incredible!

Golf is the sport of assholes.

Look on the bright side, it's better to own a golf tour than flying aircraft into buildings.

''Al-Rumayyan has been spotted wearing a “MAGA” hat during LIV events at courses owned by former President Donald Trump.

Trump predicted last July that a merger was inevitable and said anyone not signing with the Saudi league would be losing out. He weighed in Tuesday and called it a “glamorous deal for the wonderful world of golf.”

LOL......So much for doing the right moral thing and opposing the Saudis.

Fact Check..Trump was right..So was Gordon Gekko.

Since it's taking up so much critical green space on the planet, it's probably past time to pitch that whole "golf" thing on the ash heap of history. Incredibly silly "sport" to begin with...

I don't know that you've heard the end of this. What actually kills me more then guys who turned the money down, is how the PGA took the angle that it's blood money and morally wrong, but now it's okay...lol.

I just can't see how guys like Rory Mcllroy are going to let this slide. My guess is the top ranking PGA guys are going to somehow get compensated.

The King of Kings gloated in the aftermath of 9/11 that he now had the tallest building in NYC.

Salman The Butcher is evil and smart. He's sports washing his archaic desert religious autocracy into legitimacy, at the same time helping Putinesca and Nigel Farage to destabilize Europe.

It appears that tennis is not the sport of assholes.

The reason why a Saudi tennis league never materialized, they wanted to ban the WTA. They consider the women's attire as blasphemous worthy of public punishment. The allegiance between the ATP and the WTA has never been stronger. The ATP announced that not only would Saudi sponsored players be banned from the Majors, they would also be banned from the secondary tournaments that seed the Majors. The Canadian Open is part of that tier.

Nobody wants to see a fetching female tennis player publicly stoned.

The PGA has never given a fuck about the LPGA.

Nah golf if amazingly fun to play. For me golf is a bit like sex. I have been practicing for 30 years now but yet I'm still lousy at it 😷

You can bet the PGA guys took their fair share of millions from the FIP (LIV) guys ;)

Somewhat similar to what happened with the WHLA and the NHL.

Edit: To correct a minor typo changing WHL to WHA. The substance of the post is unchanged.
